How To Panda-Proof Yellow-Pages Type Sites?

I have a directory site with states, cities and business in them.

There are many pages that look almost exactly the same, except they have different listings on them. But there is no really striking, quality unique content... It's just like a yellow pages or yelp listing site.

My site was hit by Oct 14 Panda update. On Oct 21, the traffic came back 100%. Even though it's a 2007 site, I never built links to it until Nov 18th. I did a link push. Then on Dec 1st, I started building wiki links and comments.

On Dec 6th, the site crashed back down to pandalized rankings.

Any suggestions on how to panda-proof a yellowpages-type directory?

Are you sure it's the panda? The last confirmed Panda update I know of was on nov 18. Maybe it's a dance caused by sudden link building. If that's the case you should see your rankings fluctuating.

Yeah, I am not aware of any panda updates in December. I've researched but nobody mentions anything.

So, while it went from 300-600UV/day back down to pandalized level of 70-100UV/day, maybe it is a penalty or dance caused by sudden building. I am wondering though... many of the rankings were in top 100 and now are either out of top 500 or close to 500th...

Does that sounds like dancing?
