I've written so far a 10,000 word ebook and growing which tells users exactly how to remain anon using modern methods proven to work, examines hacker busts and sees/analyzes what they did wrong.. basically a complete how-to guide that includes finance
Gonna sell it on Amazon Kindle for $0.99 or maybe clickbank.. if you can sell on both sites at the same time.
Basically a VPN is used to protect your traffic from being spied on.. it doesn't make you 'anonymous'. It's so your ISP and man in the middle attacks can't snoop on your traffic. You can just rent a $4-10/mth shell or vps account and make your own VPN.. or use somebody shady like elitevpn or quadvpn
Problem is you have to trust they aren't decrypting your traffic.
As for hiding your IP..
1) buy prepaid SIM cards/dongle for internet, or use wireless
2) Connect to your own VPN (which you change up every couple of months)
3) buy socks5 or RDP (remote desktop) from vendors like Vip72 or people here and layer them. can also buy shell accounts all over the world to bounce your traffic around.
Or just use Tor on top of your prepaid SIM or wireless access, then in the Tor browser put in some socks proxies.
No VPN that claims 'no logs' actually keeps no logs. They all do no matter what they claim.. so make your own using OpenVPN then you can be assured there's no logs since you zero kill them every minute or whatever chron job you set up
This also depends on how easy it is to access wireless (spoof your mac obviously) or buy SIM cards. Some countries they don't sell prepaid SIM card dongles you have to seek out forums and buy used SIMs then fill with airtime.. switch it up a few weeks or month later to a new one.
There's much more you need to know. Like not reusing old Nick's that can be traced back to you, writing styles, colloquialisms unique to your vocab, using a live CD or Vmware to prevent hardware and browser fingerprinting/profiling.. so much more.
Tails/Amnesic Live CD is a good start for easy point and click anonymity
