Good day,

I just started promotion on my homepage and a inner page. Well google is ranking the inner page on the first page in google. Is there a way for it to show the homepage of my site instead of a inner page? Thanks for your time and help

Nick

I achieve this on my sites by linking to the homepage within the article using the anchor text I want my main page to rank for.
I then build links to the inner page using just the URL as anchor text, and build links to homepage using the keyword as anchor.

Sen me a PM with the details, its all down to content relevancy, and it can be solved!

Thanks for the help, Im definitely only going to promote the homepage and just url for the inner pages. Thanks again

Link the homepage within the article is a good idea, I'll have to try that next time I run into this. I always had some luck by changing my anchor text strategy and making the particular keyword point to where I would like it to more often.

hmm instead of making home page rank instead on first page,

maybe optimise the inner page to convert better, and then link build to both home page and inner page until there both first page.

One of my competitors has top two ranks in my niche, it's very annoying.

Honestly I would start to look at how you can use that pagerank on that page for linkbuilding purposes. Perhaps google legitimately values the page over the root domain.
