keyword(subdomain).keyword(EMD).com/keyword(subdirectory)

Has anyone tried something like that?
with exact keyword in all subdomain, domain and subdirectory,
does it bring any benefits in terms of SEO?

Thanks

shameless bump on this topic
Thanks guys

I have not tried that. I am currently working in the dating niche and I've decided to try and target specific products through use of subdomain.

I've never used a subdomain before. Hypothetically it should be the same difficulty level but I don't think I've ever seen a top listing for nichekeyword.yourdomain.com

Anyone with experience had success?

The only advantage of having a subdomain is if you're main domain is already powerful or you're simply looking to separate content and there is some search volume for the [subdomain].[main domain] term.

For example, if you wish to separate content by location, you could use:
brazilian.football.com, russian.football.com, etc.

or, if you have a main content rich site and you wish to separate an e-commerce store from this.
For example: ipod.com (main domain), shopping.ipod.com (subdomain = e-commerce store)

In most cases, I'd just use a subdirectory, but really depends on what you're trying to do.

With sub-domains you will lose the PR juice flow between website inner pages since you are basically making a sub-domain for each page/keyword and google treas each sub-domain as independent domain.

Matt cutts recently said that they were reconsidering sub-domain status, and that they were possibly going to be treated as part of the main domain in the near future for ranking/searhc purposes.

I've been meaning to do some proper empirical testing on this for a while - but you know... Time is not my friend... :(

I suspect that there would be no difference between:

diets.weight-loss.com - or - weight-loss.com/diets

But I was wondering whether using sub-domains could allow me to move other keywords closer to the front of a URL, where they have more power?

I don't think this can happen. Think of blogger spam blogs getting ranked as legit blogs with unique content on the same domain?

I am asking this because the domain is only 2-3 days old.
I dont really have anything to lose since the actual domain doesnt have any PR anyways.
I was just wondering if creating keyword in all subdomain, domain, subdirectory will help in SERP at all?
