What was your best Black Friday purchase?

My Grandma and Great Aunt wanted to go shopping this year at Walmart.

The regular stuff started at 10 pm and the electronics were supposed to start at midnight. I was trying to help my Grandma find a memory foam mattress topper. It was about 11pm and I walked to the end of the aisle where I saw about 10 employees in bright yellow vests surrounding a pallet. Obviously it piqued my curiousity so I go over there. I found that they started selling these early. There were only seven left by the time I got there.

An Xbox 360 kinect bundle with a game, a 250 gb black xbox 360, the kinect package, controller, adventures game, and a $50 Walmart gift card. I paid $199 for that. I'm selling it on CL when I get home for $250 and keeping the gift card. $100 profit just for being curious. Lol

I'm going to an outlet mall tomorrow to look and see if there are any good deals on Mac cosmetics to resell.

I know I'm not the only one that got a good deal...what did you get?

BTW, for those who are home and want to go for shoping now:

Look for BJ Club, they have a great Deal, Samsung HDTV ****** 55' for $1099, Regular Price = $1800... a great Deal... i bought last year same TV for $2400 (insurance included, from BestBuy) :(

Are you sure you got the 250 gb xbox? I bought the same package, but it came with the 4 gb one. And the Walmart flyer advertises the 4 gb one. Still a steal at that price, but would be much better if I got the 250 gb xbox.

A lot of work for just $100 profit.

Time = Money

And by "work" I mean by reselling it and posting an ad online etc.

Doing all that stuff is worth $100 to you. Wow... your time is cheap!

Fair enough if you were just there and it was a lucky bargain, but going around retail shops to buy stuff to sell on for a profit isn't the best use of your time vs money as profit margins are low.

Better off targeting a wholesaler or supplier if you like that sort of thing.

Lucky find either way.

hmm. The box said 250gb. I'll have to check it in the morning. Either way, a 4gb goes for $200. :)

Huh? There's 100 bucks profit there. $50 cash and $50 gift card. I was already there, so I'm losing about 20 minutes on this. If $300 an hour is a bad rate, that's news to me. :)

Sweet! I didn't know that! Yeah I got the same as you. I'm giving it to my kids as a Christmas present. The way I figure it is, normally everything would cost about $400 new, at regular price. I waited in line 6 hours for this, but saved $200. So I basically got paid $33 an hour to stand around.

Came home, got onto the Walmart website and bought some games with the $50 gift card I got.
 
I don't really bother going anymore. Too much hassle to save a couple bucks. But kudos to those who have the patient to wait in line. My hat goes off to them. I love seeing fights break out in the lines though hahaha.

Haha, don't get too excited. I saw 4gb and 250gb on the box. I'll do some research and figure out what the hell we bought. Lol
 
I also did some shopping at oldnavy.com for my kids. All sorts of $15-$20 clothes on sale today for $5. Spent $50 total and got a pair of jeans, a shirt and a jacket for all three of my kids.
 
Yeah, I guess it's a 4gb. The box said 250 for some reason. Not worried though, because the console alone is $200. :-)

Yeah I just looked at the box. On the right side panel it lists 3 different xbox's. I'm pretty sure we got the one shaded in gray because that picture looks like the box we got.

Still a great price though!

If u can get some Profit from Your Time, Thats already a Great and Right Move, and everybody is trying hard to do this...

I would not go out for some few bucks waiting in line for ages...

oh by the way the xbox bundle you got, sears has it for 210 free shipping. so for keeping it you saved 60 but for selling it theres tons of good offers right now
 
Argh. I did post it on cl yesterday. Had one bite so far. We'll see what happens.
