Hello everyone,

So yeah, we lost our #1 backlinks checker.

Now what ? Share here your opinions/reviews about YSE alternatives.

OR

Let's all hold hands and cry, and move to Captcha writing business.

I heard good stuff about Majestic.. but never tried.

Should give it a try soon..

I just tried it with one of my domains which has around 500 backlinks and backlink watch says
Your website has not backlinks to report. -- Go on .. and build backlinks first ;)
btw.. you can look into following few options to build backlinks

Each and every tool sucks when compared to YSE.

SEO Spyglass is still up and running. They planned in advance for this.

Scrapebox Backlink Checker is down...you'd have THOUGHT they would have planned in advance.

A $7.00 p/month fee kicks in to use the software sometime after you buy it. I had it a while before I had to pay the fee. Maybe a year. But there is a fee after purchase. I guess the fee is there to fund the manpower needed to address issues such as this.

hmm not sure about seo spy glass because every time i try to search backlinks with it, most of the times their sources come from blekko and yahoo.

Im wondering, when it says yahoo, does it mean they save caches from previous yahoo site explorer? and how do we know their link data is up to date? (i.e. links that have been deleted won't be visible anymore there?)

Are you using the free version? the free version doesn't show backlinks indexed by google.

yea im using the free version because i want to test it first. I am still awaiting for more positive reviews from people because apparently not everyone is satisfied with their service

- I am using Majestic for now. If you "prove" you are the owner of a website then you can get full results. Only a small dataset is available for other websites though.
- Href seems to not really see most of my backlinks. Their engine and spiders needs tweaking!
- SEOmoz's open site explorer is good since it allows you to see links that have really sticked. It is NEVER up to date but it's quite useful if you pay their PRO subscription and get linkdata for foreign websites as well.

The internet is like the ocean, always changing, always shifting, learn to surf...

Like nature, anything static is BORING.

Ah so this is why market samurai isn't working with the back link checker! Was pulling my hair out. I shall try SPYGLASS SEO..

That's because most use Yahoo's API to get their data. Now it's gone, so has their tools' usefulness!

Majestic SEO, OSE, ahref and SEO Spyglass all work great.
