I would not recommend doing so until you are guaranteed to be making a sustainable income. Otherwise you might find yourself jobless because a. you quit your job and b. your campaign failed. Not saying that it will fail, I wish you the best of luck, but be wary of what you do.

ATM im making 1-3k/month with IM but taxes etc. ... :S
I want to send out 50 packages and check how they like it, how many contracts etc.

If you send out something make sure to have a call to action and then followup with a call within the next 2 days after they have received it.

I wouldn't send do many at a time. Although firepower is exciting, you can't send another packet to the same business any time soon, so first send a few and make adjustments based on the response you get from those. Then tweak if necessary and send another batch. On top of that, you are losing time by waiting that they're all ready, and if you're lucky and get a lot of good feedback, you may not be able to cater for everybody. Finally, it's more money you have to spend before even being able to sniff any money at all. But good luck whatever you do.

Now that sounds like the life!
As much as I want to quit my job (almost fulll-time), make sure you have at least two months worth of pay saved first! Which you may be able to get within a few days if you snag a few good clients!

This. Maybe even 6 months of living expenses.

I have had great experience with the GPlace Letter, but not enough to quit my job after one mailing.

I'm also pretty keen to see an update on this and any info you found while doing this. Did you manage to do the 100 drop or go with the 20? What was your close rate? What sort of rates did you start out with?

Yup I'd like to hear this as well as I am looking to start out soon and might do the same thing with the reputation management thread that 7878 posted on here.
