First off, I just want to say thanks to this community, I had a fair understanding of SEO before discovering BHW but that just helped me figure out that some people here REALLY know what they are talking about. And no, it's not always the people with 1,000's of posts. 
BHW has helped me in a few different ways but the main one is providing me SEO tools and great BST services.
I'm not going to share my method since I'm still trying to make it into my full time income but I wanted to share the small success that I have had and just let it encourage everyone who needs some motivation to never give up and keep trying.
Here is my screenshot from the month of October. It's the first month that I used CJ and I'm happy that I didn't let all the advertisers rules discourage me from still trying to make money.
P.s I want you to see more then just the amount I earned, I want you to see that I have many different advertisers that I'm partnered with. The more avenues of income you create the more steady the flow of income is. If you are an affiliate that is, I can't speak for other industries.
But don't place all your eggs in one basket, I mean, what if CJ shuts down your account, what are you going to do then? About 2 years ago I was making about $800/month with Amazon and growing. However, Amazon changed some TOS and it effected me directly, I lost over half my commissions the month that the new TOS was introduced.
I have over 20 different affiliate accounts now, Amazon, Avangate, Plimus etc.
One thing that I have learned with CJ is don't just apply to a program and simply hope that you get excepted. Take control of the situation and contact the affiliate manger right after you send your application in. Explain to them how you plan on making sales and keep it simple and to the point. Do you like reading essays? They don't either!

Subject:
Hello (name if CJ has one displayed), I just applied to your affiliate program.
I noticed that you manually approve affiliates and so I wanted to contact you personally and tell you how I plan on promoting your products.
(To the point examples)
Thanks for your time and consideration,
(Name)
(publisher ID XXXX)
