Another Google Trends technique

First, the attacker would need to come up with a unique phrase, something that doesn't normally get much search traffic, so that Google will see a huge spike in activity for the keywords...

Next, the attacker needs to get a lot of people searching for their target phrase. The easiest way to do this is via Social Engineering. Perhaps they jumped on a few popular chat rooms and typed something like this: "If you search for ǝlƃooƃ noʎ ʞɔnɟ on Google, you'll see a scary face pop up!"

Now, if the attacker was really smart, they would make sure their page was indexed at #1 for the keywords ahead of time (easy to do if you choose unique keywords). That way, they could capitalize on the huge influx of traffic they'd get from being #1 on Google Trends front page...

Sounds cool. I wish I knew how they did it. Maybe they used a script that searched google with large working proxy database

Very interesting article. I am still yet to rack my brains and come up with something to have a go at Google trends. The concept seems very sound.

this is so krazy cuz i actually thought about this same exact idea a longtime ago i got the idea from project quick cash but i never tried it because of couple obsticals and here they are


1 you would need to create a bot with many broswer agents

2 supports proxies

3 how fast and how long would it take my keywords to jump on google trends because remember google trends is updated every hour


my solution to those who wanna try this??


hire college students by going to craigslist myspace facebook etc offer to them a free music or movie downloads and tell them all they have to do to get their free downloads is for them to go to google and search for the keyword you tell them to search for thats it

what do you guys think??

I don't think you could creat a trend manually by asking people to search or something like that. But if you creat a powerful tool that automates that searches than you have a goldmine

OR... You could have a Network of Black hat marketers joining forces and subtly dominating Google Trends till it's of no use to anybody anymore...LOL
