PR Update not as expected

I have a few expired domains that I purchased that were PR2 about 2 or 3 months ago. I purchased them more for the domain age than the PR but at least PR2 gave me something to build upon.

I built and purchased some high PR backlinks with low OBL but after the PR update I'm not getting the results I expected.

Here is an example of a domain that stayed a PR2:

Looking at the PR4, 5 & 6 backlinks that I have, I think this domain should be more than a PR2. I look at domains in blog networks that I'm a member of and they don't have as strong a backlink profile as that.

This dropped from PR2 to PR0 -

I've got a PR6, a PR4 and a PR3 backlink all with OBL of 50 or under. That should give it some power but it drops to PR0 instead.

Another thing that doesn't sit right is Google and Facebook dropped from PR10 to PR9.

Anyone else got an opinions on this?

Cheers,

TeamRoyster.

Acutally In my personal openion this is minor PR update

within few days Google will again change PR becasue Now Google is PR 9

As we already see in past that google update PR with in days

I have over 200 PR5+ d0follows to a site with <30 OBL each (many in the single digits) ... 4 PR8s... and that site is only PR4

Don't know why you expected a mere 3 "high PR" links to do anything.

That fair enough but I'm looking at other sites within a blog network like the following:

The following has PR4 and both the examples that I gave looks like they have stronger backlinks.

Is PR gained from an aggregated score of backlinks? or do they work out the average from all your backlinks?

PR has never made sense... hate to break it to you.
One of my sites should be PR7 technically and another PR8... if basing it upon linking strategies and d0follow high PR links.

I don't need it to make sense, only to be consistent.
