Firu's Journey

Thats bad and Essence that vid is fucked up

It was quite hard watching both those vids , How someone could be so cruel to an animal is beyond me those fuckers deserve to be hung !

For some reason it doesn't bother me as badly when I hear of something bad happening to humans because for the most part (unless they are babies), humans can fend for themselves.

Animals are innocent and helpless so hurting/torturing/killing them is just as bad as if you were to do it to a baby. Why harm something that can't defend itself? It's sickening.

Not sure why you emphasized "human beings" in that statement either as if they should be treated more importantly than other living things on this planet.

I know there are a lot of good people out there, but the sick twisted ones just make our whole species look like the scum of the earth. Humans are the only ones that kill or torture for pleasure and there's no reason for it.

I don't know dude, chimps can be pretty fucked up. And yes human beings should be treated more importantly than other living things on this planet. If there is a choice between a human and an animal to live, it should always be the human (unless theyre fucked up)

Yeah chimps can sometimes snap, but their DNA is something like 98% similar to humans, so the similarities (physically and mentally) are crazy. Still, there's way more humans that are fucked up than chimps.

Normally if an animal attacks or does something vicious, it's because they feel threatened or are defending their territory. It's rare that they do something shitty for no reason at all. They go off instinct.

And why do you feel that if it's between a human and animal life the human should always be chosen over the animal? I can't understand why people feel that way. Animals have feelings and emotions just like humans do. Animals feel pain and happiness just like humans do. Animals have family, kids, and friends like humans do.

The difference? Animals (at least pets like cats, dogs, etc.) will show you unconditional love if you treat them right. Many people on the other hand will stab you in the back the first chance they get no matter how good you have been to them. Even family and close friends will do it to you.

Just because animal's brain capacity isn't as developed as humans doesn't mean their life is any less significant. If your argument is based on intelligence/brain capacity, then does that also mean if it's between a smart person and a dumbass that the idiot person should be killed so the smart one can live?

If so, this world is full of idiots and our population is already too damn big...maybe we should round them all up and exterminate them all? Or maybe if someone commits murder, the punishment should be based on how smart the victim was?

See, where do you draw the line?

Well sir, "god" gave us our brains for a reason, and we have created this world by virtue of that fact. Animals are there to protect us, provide companionship for the lonely, and to sustain us (via food). They are certainly not there to torture for our own amusement or for us to disregard their lives. You can live in this fantasy world where ants are equal to humans simply because they "live" as well, but if we all decided to operate on that wavelength then we'd still be living up in trees flinging our own shit at one another.

Certain things need to happen for us humans to progress -- its just in our dna. Of course alot of bad totally unnecessary shit is happening as well, but those issues (which drive this sort of behavior) are way too multi faceted and complicated to even bother getting into

This is coming from an animal lover by the way.

Animals aren't put here for the sole purpose of serving humans via companionship, food, or protection. They are here to live their lives just like humans are. Sure it works out that they make great companions and protectors, but that definitely isn't the only reason they are here.

And I'm sure a lot will disagree but humans aren't even designed to eat animal meat. Our bodies including our teeth and digestive systems are way more similar to herbivores in the animal kingdom than carnivores or even omnivores. If something was "natural" for us to eat, it wouldn't be linked to higher incidences of cancer and other sicknesses that plague our society.

I don't understand how having respect for other living things and treating them as equals makes us unable to evolve. As far as ants, I don't necessarily classify them in with other animals. As far as I know, ants don't feel love, happiness, sadness, anger, and all the other emotions that make living things what they are. Not that I think they should be disregarded, but accidentally stepping on an ant and killing it isn't the same as killing or harming something like a cat, dog, rabbit, or whatever.

Certain things need to happen for us humans to progress -- its just in our dna.

I agree certain things need to happen, but I don't think it needs to come at the expense of other living things. If we're so advanced, why do humans still stick to draconian methods when there are clearly more modern ways to accomplish a goal that doesn't cause pain and suffering to something else?

There are some sick f*ckin people on this Earth man!

Just seen this in my old threads and thought it was bump worthy.

This is, by far, disgusting.. Kudos to the OP, definitely worth the bump, I have to revive this argument but, I love my dog, and she loves me, no doubt about that. But if it came down to my life or her's, well, it'd be my life, this is in reference to J1218's argument. Human life -IS- and will -ALWAYS- be more important than a pet. Anyways, Cheers!
