Methods for long-term blog promotion?

Hey, guys,

I have started a new long term (think years) project to build an authority blog in a pretty specific niche. I'm currently trying to write one quality article per day.

My dilemma, then, is how should I go about promotion? I've got about six hours per day that I can dedicate to this. What's going to be the most effective way to spend my time? I'm interested in building a site that will last, but I'd also like to get some initial traffic ASAP, since it's demoralizing to put some hard work into an article and then have like 17 people read it.

I'm open to any suggestions/ideas, since I'm going to end up testing everything to figure out what works. I can afford to invest, max, a couple of hundred dollars into this project.

I own a copy of Scrapebox and BMD.

My suggestion:

- Create 1 unique article a day, post that article to your site.
- Spin the article and insert 2 anchor text, linking to your new article then post it to as many web20s as you can.
- Bookmark your site and the web20s with BMD, about 300 bookmarks should do.
- Use SB on your web20s.

Optional:
- Submit the spun article to these sites: http://www.vretoolbar.com/articles/Top50ArticleDirectoriesByTraffic.csv
- Get some .edu/.gov links and SB them to death.
- Look at the top 50 results of your keyword, see if there's any site on there where you can drop your link.

Thanks for the link to the Top50ArticleDirectories, that should come in handy. Regarding web2.0 sites like tumblr, should I register a new account + subdomain for each article? Or just post them all to the same sub-domain?
