So I've worked SEO in-house and this is my first time starting up a project.

This is a local project, not many competency and it wont bring a lot of income, having that in mind:

I've done the in-page SEO and I manually get some links in blog comments, directories, etc. As soon as I get some content I will spin it and submit it to some other sites for extra backlinks.
But my question is: When is it safe to go full auto and start using programs such as scrapebox, xgen seo and the like?

Depends if you're going to use them intelligently :)

uh thanks but that answer didn't help a lot...

When you have an old domain, stacks of backlinks with all kinds of anchor text and to lots of different pages and you've got very high PR, then it might be safe. For instance, it'd be pretty difficult to ruin Wikipedia with Xrumer.

On the other hand, if it's a new project you shouldn't be using blackhat tools directly on it. Use buffer sites and get a link pyramid going and use the tools on those sites instead.

Theres never a better time or a bad time! just go for it mate!

Thanks for the advice
