Why You Shouldn't Support Occupy Wallstreet

In a way I agree in a way I dont. He is basically saying the abuse of the system came because the Govt did not use the tools in place to monitor and keep in check "big business".

The problem with the analogy is the "lion" in this case basically has the "lion keeper" in his back pocket. The Lion did not escape, he paid his way out.

No,
The issue is that fundamentally large businesses do much more harm than good. 1000s of small businesses taking over the role of wal-mart would lead to better working conditions, more jobs, and far less government waste dealing with lobbyists etc.

The problem isn't one is evil and the other isn't, the problem is that big business, trademark rights and copyrights are fundamentally against the moral principles of humanity
As long as these things exist, the population will be in perpetual servitude

You should know what you speak of before you cast such blame...

The banks did the risky mortgage deals because they were forced to by the government. Research the "Community Reinvestment Act" and what role Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac played in the crash.

While your at it, note the similarities between the mentality of the Occupy Wallstreeters to the cause of the "Community Reinvestment Act". People need to stop crying "Its not fair" and get off their ass and EARN what they feel entitled to. Gotta quit blaming the people who worked hard for their success and try to learn how they did it instead.....

They did it in an era where it was possible to do something... even if it was just another bubble.
Good luck ever becoming a managing director of an IB now.

How are trademarks against the principles of humanity?

If the government wants to increase education, why not build more schools instead of having student loans. Where the tuition is very cheap.

How are trademarks against the principles of humanity?

1) Trademarks support conglomerations which are almost always fundamentally destructive
2) There is no reasonable difference between the use of a commonality and a trademark, except the trademark holder spends tons of money to shove out competition
3) Trademarks exist for one reason, to keep competition away. This is fundamentally against our sense of fairness as competition brings down executive salaries, increases average worker wage and boosts the economy in general.

Want a different reason? How about a reason that is so horrible it is barbaric?

Person was successfully sued who bought nike shoes simply because they were fake (though he had no way of knowing this prior to purchasing them). Simply put, buying a product that you believe is legitimate and then selling them in bulk, and if you comply with C&Ds if it is fake, SHOULD be enough from a moral perspective. Trademarks should be civil claims as no one is generally harmed by them, say like a person is harmed by someone barreling down the road drunk. Yet the penalities for DWIs are far less severe than accidentally buying a pair of shoes you thought were real.

I'd rather a 1000 counterfeiters go free than imprison or punish innocent people.

Trademark/copyright law is archaic.

A lawsuit is part of civil law not criminal law. The company just has a really stupid legal team in the U.K. and PR team. The PR team should have gotten the legal department to stop.

That doesn't really address the underlying ludicrous nature that trademark disputes can often take on.

People do genuinely sometimes believe that the products they are selling or buying are authentic.

Stockholm Syndrome.

:whoo::drinking2:drinking2:drinking2:drinking2:drinking2

Stockholm Syndrome is a term used to describe a real paradoxical psychological phenomenon wherein hostages express empathy and have positive feelings towards their captors, sometimes to the point of defending them.

Even Robert Kiyosaki says that Goldman Sachs rules the US not Obama towards the end of video. The Federal Reserve Bank controls the world.

The OP's premise is fundamentally flawed because it tries to differentiate between the "Big Money" of Wall Street, and the "Politicians" of Washington.

They are the exact same group of sleaze. The are also a cancer which needs to be cut out completely. This should be an issue of "D" vs. "R", it should be one of getting rid of every single incumbent, with very few exceptions. (Ron Paul, Rand Paul, Bachman, etc...)

And, if people insist for moral purity I'd to along with getting rid of THEM too. A message needs to be sent, they haven't heard it, they aren't going to hear it, the best we can do is rip their ears off and kick them out into the street where it doesn't matter what they hear or don't hear, because it won't matter what they do and don't do.

I wouldn't be suprised if that dude's selling ebooks on WF. :D

The prob with that view, is that the government that regulates them, is bought and paid for, by the ones they regulate. Occupy (I hope) is the first step, to get more and more people to take note. The government and the corporations are in cahoots, and we're going to be screwed until we do something. It's a long, hard, uphill battle, considering how entrenched they are, and these corporations and government personnel are not one simple faction, that can easily be held accountable. These individuals earn thousands, millions, and even billions of dollars, and that is a hard battle to fight against.
