Could the other 10 articles that you provide be put on a separate section of the site [I have a link to blogposts in the header, that is where your posts would show up]

Yeah, that is absolutely fine. The articles do not have to be on your homepage. Just create a new directory where they will be loaded and they will just be as fine.
