new site with fresh domain , it's safe to build 1k backlinks weekly ? if not what the max NO to stay safe ?

Well I'd recommend you start with a few, and work your way up. Build up link velocity and keep a spreadsheet of your work done per day.

Start with web2.0 networks (squidoo, weebly, and all the rest), then mix with article directories, then social net + articles + profiles, and start building a momentum. Once you get near the place you want to be start slowing down a bit. when you stop expect some drops.....

Manual blog comments are also great for a start from pages with low outgoing links

These things will help you boosting your SERP and PR.

As you site is new, Don't make backlinks in bulk.

I've never wait to build links, I blast tens of thousands daily and never have been penalized.
Basicly I'm doing the same thing with old and new domains.

Don't belive that bullshit about building links over time

It's like putting efforts in right direction which can give you max return, it does not matter how many you do back links but it counts how efficiently.Business is like your own baby, the more you give your own time and nurture it, the more it grows well....
Create backlinks by your self and do not worry about the count.

For any new site, I tend to build the 1st layer around it (articles, 2.0's, a few forum links/profiles, edu's, youtube videos, twitter, etc) all pointing to my main and category pages. Variety tends to be the key on the 1st layer. Then heavily blast those links with anything I can get my hands on. It really depends on the difficultly of your competition. With tougher competitions I'll add an extra layer and widen the overall network.

I would avoid blasting a lot of links on your main domain. If you would do multiple tier linkbuilding you wouldn't have this problem as it's pretty safe to blast those. Not directly your main domain.

Put your effort in the right direction and surely you get your reward. Do not stuck with numbers, just keep on moving with posting links on different directories, websites and blogs related to your website.

I tend to agree with the others. Start with the social bookmarks, profiles, manual blog comments, blah, blah, blah. Better safe than sorry. It's worked for me so that's what I'll stick with.

Same here. People that say to build links slowly don't have the capacity to build links quickly.
