Create a Trending Topic On Twitter Using XXXX Accounts

I want to create a trending topic in the US on twitter using a large amount of twitter accounts

My Idea right now is 1,000 accounts with 5,000 REAL Different followers on each account



Has Anyone Tried this and was successful?
Also If anyone could provide any tips towards completing this goal?

I'm not trying to sound insulting but have you ever marketed on twitter?
Like do you have 1k of accounts with 5k friends?

You'll find 99% would dream about that, because obviously you'd need a boat
load of good proxies, and to carry out a task like this you'd need software,
perhaps custom... I only ever tried twitter once so I've limited knowledge.

Also can I ask why would you bother trying this? You could risk linking all your
accounts together but I doubt you would be caught... again do you actually have
this many accs + friends? People who would probably wouldn't ask this question.

I've got about 2000 accounts and know for a fact you're looking at needing about 20k accounts to be able to get something trending, more on a busy day.

My buddy and I once got it trending but not with 1k accs....you're looking at somewhere around 5k+ with at least 10k followers on them

and that was even so while ago...

currently, you can multiply that number by 2 or 3 and might not be successful. You can give it a try though. It's a hard work with excellent benefits, but on the other side you might not have it trending at all or maybe only for 5mins which could be not sufficient.

So yes, this is coming from a person who has done it in the past.

What you need is a little BH, an app which lets you post from other's accounts.
Have never tried but i think there is an interview with the CEO of Twitter on Techcrunch recently and the number of tweets per day are just mindboggling, so you need way more followers to tweet.

How does the trending algorithm work anyway? Is it how many tweets the hashtag gets in a certain amount of time? Why do your follower counts even matter? i thought it was simply based on how many accounts are tweeting a certain thing?

To get a topic trending, it has to be tweeting by more people than normal, and they have to be people who haven't tweeted about that subject before. I.E. if you were tweeting about the topic already with those accounts, it won't work. I don't know if you can do it with only 1,000 but I wish you luck! Your best bet might be to solicit other BHW's, freelancers, mechanical turks, fiverr people, to tweet the same thing at the same time and you will have a much better chance.

i think you would need more like 20k accounts min, i mean like that big brother thing dont even trend, and millions tweet about that

Twitter could spot the footprint a mile away unless each used a completely different ip range/address and ip location.
All the accounts would need to fully kitted out, profile, months of real tweets etc

Ive got 3k accounts and would never point them all at one hashtag or URL.

It's do able and will take a few runs to get right but it's not a one shot project, plan it over maybe 6 months and you might get there.
