How much to start up?

I have been doing HTML/JS(jQuery)/PHP/MySQL for over 8 years now, so I have experience with web languages.

I am a newbie to money-making in terms of methods you use, but I have quite a lot (over $25,000) I am willing to put forth once I get experienced to grow this endeavor.

My question is, how much of that should I use to BEGIN doing this stuff? A few thousand on core products? I am just not sure where to get started, as there is SO MUCH information on this site it is hard to pinpoint the necessities of a beginner.

Also to note I am not limiting to JUST Black Hat SEO, I am looking for everything to make money online. There was just not a great area to post in general that I could find... so any input would be welcome.

Its not about how much money you can spend when you are new at this. In fact i would say do not spend any money yet. learn to walk before you can run.

Learn keyword research, register domain, choose a reliable host company, set name servers, adding search optimized content, building attractive sites or customizing Wordpress themes, on page seo and off page seo. Just buying tools will not make you money as you then need to learn how to use each one.

You might also want to have your own product, service, brand you market and sellto others..

Yes it can all be over whelming but unless you have a good friend who will spoon feed you everything it will take anything from 6 months upwards to see real success online.

There is no quick fix push button software you can buy and that will generate instant cash. Not to mention you need to have some business/marketing acumen.

I have a developer friend who didnt know how to register a domain! Another one been doing web design for 10 years didnt know what 'SEO' stands for so.....

Lol yeah I know a couple of people like that to, it kind of makes you wonder how they've been in the business so long and don't know.

Buying Scrapebox is like buying gas but you actually do not own a car and barely know how to drive!

Search the forum. Go to the sale portion and sort by replies, you will get a decent grasp of the tools. Scrapebox,Xrummer,AMR etc etc. I do recommend you read the stickies first so to understand what bhw is all about.

And dont just spend all money now...most of us start by lurking and reading and testing till we succeed.

Once you understand the basics get jr VIP and you wont look back.

If you have $25K,it is not too much, but it is enough to go slowly,so my advice is:

-read carefully this and other forums
-find and be sure that method/way/business that you choose is somethig you like and what is challenge to you (it is not all about money, there is something in passion )
- and when you are sure start!

Get yourself a kw research tool, I recommend Market Samurai ($97).

Learn kw research properly. Learn on-page SEO properly. Get yourself a bunch of freehosted blogs (blogger, wordpress.com etc).

Invest $50 or so in content creation, should get you 10 articles at least. Post them on your blogs.

Start off with one off-site tool at a time, say ScrapeBox ($57 with BHW discount). Learn it by blasting your freehosted blogs and tracking progress with Market Samurai.

The above should take you a good month or two. The cost, about $200. Once you've learned a bunch about the above, THEN you can start investing into more tools and also (HIGHLY recommended) invest into outsourcing most of the work.
