May be a really dumb semi-noob question but...

How would I go about placing something infront of my url? If my website were example.cm and I wanted to start a hosting service, how could I get it to direct to hosting.example.cm instead of example.cm/hosting?

I can't find information ANYWHERE on how I can do this. Please Help!!

Thats "subdomain" of your own domain..contact your registrar and ask for assistance..they will guide you through the process...

I have sites like mysite.com and contact.mysite.com doing the same thing

You probably don't need to bother asking your registrar to do it. Usually it's pretty easy to set up yourself.

If you have cPanel then first set up the folder (example.cm/hosting), then back on the main cpanel page go to the "subdomain tool" , it will ask you for the subdomain name to create (hosting.example.cm) and the folder to use for it.

If you don't have cPanel then just look through whatever control panel your host uses to find the same "create subdomain" feature. Even the free hosts usually allow you to create at least a few subdomains.

Really? Can't find it ANYWHERE? LOL
Try searching google for the phrase how to setup a subdomain. You'll find plenty of information there. :)
