Aged expired domains keep their age??

Basically I have started searching for aged domains and I found out that a lot of expired domains has a quite an age:

Now I wonder wether the domains would keep their age if I were to registrer them now?

What are you planning on using them for? Where they were dropped yesterday, if you recreate the old site now I think Google will just see that as a lapse in judgement by the owner. These are great for building a network of domains linking to you (although none of those have a great backlink profile or PR for that). If you plan on stripping the site and building a site around your favorite diet product (or whatever) Google will see it as a new site, but the original age will still show in SEQuake and other tools. If you recreate the site, it will only count as being from 1996 if it has been the same site since 1996. If the site has changed hands a dozen times since then and you recreate the latest site you will have the age of the latest site.

Okay so unless I create the exact same page, google will see it as a new thus resetting the age, right?

For instance: Say I recreated the entire site exactly as it were before it dropped (3 days ago). Would I keep the PR and domain age then?

You will keep the age even if it does drop if you keep the same pages. You can recreate the site, then add new stuff to it and use it for whatever you want.

A few plugins you might want are "link juice keeper" which redirects any links to inactive pages to the homepage and "custom permalinks" which allows you to recreate the exact same URLs that the old site had.

No , if you register an EXPIRED domain name˙NOW,

the domain name age will be shown from the day its registered once again.

The counter of domain age is resetted to 0.

If you have link juice keeper already, is there still a need for the custom permalinks plugin? Won't all invalid URLs be redirected to the homepage already?

Yes but some of those URLs will have some PR of their own so instead of getting 1 PR3 domain, you are getting a PR3 domain with 2 PR3 inner pages, 5 PR2 inner pages and 7 PR1 inner pages which is even better for link building if that's why you buy these domains. That's why I do both, and for the purpose of looking like it is the same site with the same owner.

What's the most efficient way to figure out all the pages of a site (with PR) before buying them?

You won't know the exact PR of the pages but you can get an idea through MajesticSEO.com >> Top Pages and/or going to waybackmachine.org and typing in mysite.com/randomgibberish which will make waybackmachine ask if you want to see all of the old pages.

New to being expired domains

Quick Questions:
1. What software did you use to check when domains are expiring?
2. If you buy an expired domain that has saya pr of 3 will it keep the pr if you buy it and build a new site?
