No, first time getting stuff seized. What happens is your address is now in the system and they will open inspect every package you get. That's what the customs CHIEF told me via telephone.

Your headphones were taken? They are seized and you aren't getting them back. If you got them from BigMama you lost all your money.

Yeah, that's the deal. So now I will have to figure out new shipping arrangements. Not to mention a new supplier ( i like the prices, just can't trust the shipping). Are you getting a charge back or is the a dead end for you too?

DHL is a reputable company, and they even advertise in F1 races. I doubt they are trying to scam you for a meager $15.

getting taxed on items is normal for international shipping. It depends on the country you're shipping into. Refer to the customs website for more information.
I guess the stated price of your goods is low, thats why you only got charged $15. I use to bring in mobile phones from overseas to my country, and I get charged around $50 for each mobile phone because the stated price is $500.

Item's were seized got a letter today from customs. I have 30 days to appeal or they destroy them. They valued it at $1,800 which was cheap really. they could've easily valued it from $4,000 to $5,000. Guess they went a little easy on me since it was first time I've had anything stopped and a clean record. Do they really destroy them or does the agents take the stuff? In the back of the letter it said a civil penalty will be assessed for this case. it had 2 boxes to check for customs to check. that said the details of the penalty was included in the letter or 2 a penalty is being prepared and will be sent later. neither was checked.

They usually don't destroy it. It will remain with the customs, and you can take your time to release it. That was my experience.

I never said importing was untraceable. No this is not my main item these were a totally unrelated item. When it comes to flat irons 40 is a smaller shipment, the boxes are little. I suggest you gain some experience in this, before you comment on anymore posts.

@Toyo, I'm a little confused by your post. You have received items that were SEIZED by customs? Maybe "held" but I doubt seized. There is a difference. In my experience, anything that was seized I never got. It never got "released" back to me. The only way you can get them back is by providing official documentation. I have had items Held by customs for a few weeks, then released, that's usually just poor logistics.. I received a letter one time telling me they (100 nike shoes) would goto public auction LOL , I'm sure they don't just auction off bootlegs. Your items will be incinerated.

That would be like cops sending drugs they seized back to the dealers
