Hello, do you know of a service that pings your webpages when they have new content? I'm looking for something with an API.

I've never pinged my pages, but if I'm under the right assumption, it makes sense to do so if you add new content to your site. (pingler.com, pingfarm.com)

Any help would be much appreciated.. Thanks.

if you use wordpress this should help you: ping back optimizer. really helps get your new content indexed in seconds. also try to post links to twitter

I'm actually looking to do it on my website.. There is new, fresh content released each day on a few pages (maybe 80) of a 30k site. Is this something that makes sense IYO? Thanks!

you can use bulkping to ping more then one link at a time.
and

in wordpress there is a Default installation of autopings for each new post under Options>Writing>Update Services.

THIS.

Set up your rss to go to twitter and facebook at a minimum and other sites at ping.fm if you're a real go gitter.

I've tested to see how fast google indexed content from my site that I RSS'ed to those others vs. that I didn't. Over a day for those I didn't and under 30 mins for those I did.

Dosnt AMR let you ping? even on all search engines in the world?

I believe i used it when submitting articles with AMR.... im not to sure though!

What if you're not using a blog? Does it still make sense to ping? If it does, what service would you use? One w/ an API would be great.. Thanks.
