Yesterday, I purchased a new computer. The specs are i7 2600k, 8 GB ram.

My old computer was a dual core 2.8 ghz ( if I'm not mistake ) with only 3 GB ram.

Whenever I opened blog comment pages (like 6 of them), it would lag considerably. I mean, my firefox would end up frozen.

Now, I can open 30 blog comment pages with no lag, no freezing.

I just wanted to let you guys know that if you are doing SEO, especially work where you have to open multiple tabs on a browser, make sure you have a top of the line computer.

I have probably increased efficiency by 50%. I can do double the work in the same amount of time.

Should have done this a long time ago...... stupid I know, but I thought I was "saving" money.

First you better earn the money to buy the new computer.
But ofcourse you are right with what you are saying,
a good machine could help you alot.

Still not sure if you need 8 gb ram to open multiply tabs...
But because I have a 16 gb ram PC for rendering and editing I better shut up here :)

How much was your PC?

You should of just used linux brah.

Should have. Stuck with Windows 7 atm. I'm hating the themes though.

If I knew I would be able to work this much faster with a new computer, I would have bought it earlier. I didn't think my computer was that old.

I bought the entire custom built pc for $575. No graphics card, but eh I don't care. I'm not gaming these days anymore ;)

Nice buy on the i7 :p

Thanks bro ;) I'm loving it

Yeah... My PC is dual core still and I think I definitely need to upgrade at least the CPU. I have 8gb of ram so I am fine in that department. I've noticed programs are slow and I am capped at max CPU % being used up, when using some of my apps for SEO.

Hmm... I haven't checked compatibilities of my programs through Wine yet. I should probably do that.

Or just stick a virtualbox in seamless mode running XP lite. Mmm.

Why are you using firefox and that RAM leaking POS?

My current specs: X6 1100T 6x3.3ghz comp with 12gb of ram and solid state HD :o
100mbps dedicated line to my house.

Yap, just like me. I hate when my computer lag.
I upgrade my old 7750 AMD 4GB DDR, with Core i3 Laptop with 8 Gb RAM.

So far works very nice.

Yup, feels good to not live in 2005 anymore.

I wasn't thinking of the time I would save by buying a new computer. Imagine how much more money I could have made if I had 50% more time over the course of a month ;).

Well i got 20 to 30 tabs open constantly and i'm only running this:

amd Athlon 64
3200+
2.21 GHz 1.00 GB of RAM
Geforce Fx 5700 Agp Tv - Out
Windows Xp

the funny thing is when i Play online games like Quake, i got the lowest ping, i personally think it's how you set your shit up, i've gone around 4-5 months without even turning this thing off, and built the shit 10 years ago. hehehe

Dang.. interesting. I'm thinking Kaspersky was causing my computer to be extra slow. I'm using ESET Smart Security now. Way better!

What? No.

I think your old computer got problem.

My old laptop is only 1.86Ghz dual core with 1.5Gb DDR2 RAM
And can open up to 32 tabs on Chrome or Firefox with no problems. It's just the connection started to slow down.

But now I'm using Macbook Pro which is more productive for me. Hell, you laugh when I say about Macbook Pro. I knew it! :D

It's different when you are opening 20 tabs and some pages have up to 1k comments.

Try using Google Chrome and see if you like it.

In my opinion I like it over firefox.

And nice specs on your new computer :)

I feel paranoid. I think Google is watching me check my keywords ;/

Thanks on the compliment, although I know there are people here that have specs that will blow mine out of the water. I'm just glad I'm rid of that old crap. :p

Any recommendations for laptops I am looking to buy a new one but am not big into hardware.

I still prefer firefox's expandability. Still heaps of plugins you just can't get for chrome.
