OK, so this morning I saw a facebook group that was "In Memory of Steve Jobs, Apple are giving away 1000 free iPad 2's".
This group obviously led to the offer.
Over 100 of my university friends has joined the group and I'm guessing continued to fill out the offer (Quite a few wrote "Thanks" on the wall etc).
If you look at the group now it has been shut down by facebook for leading users of the site.
Personally I think this was a GREAT idea. As I stated easily 100 of my friends joined, and there were thousands in the group. I can only imagine how many signed up, especially with it going through UK university groups.
