Ok so we are having quite a bit of a debate at our end about this and I thought i'd post it in the public and get some views from the smartest people out there in IM.

So as you might be aware that sites.google.com is the updated version of google pages that has not gotten too popular but since its a good thing its something that would become popular magically because of the panda like blogger. ;)

We had been debating if we should be adding it inside of iAutoblog or not and we had decided it wont be a really worth the time since the links are NoFollow.

All this was a done deal till yesterday when IamNRE found a way to make the links Do follow. The trick. Using google's own Link shortener: goo.gl .. Now since goo.gl does a 301 redirect that means it passes the link juice.

Code:
http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/goo-gl-url-shortener/

So now the question is Would you like us to add an autoblogging feature for sites.google.com along with the other 11 platforms we already support in iAutoblog? :)

I would say HELLL YEAAAAA!!!! :)

Aint no link, like a Google Do-Follow Link ;)

Google shorten service blocks URLs like mad! Be careful when the links etc...they have a pretty aggressive SPAM policy

google has always NOT given any juice from its own links

bookmarks, knol, groups....etc

most are ******** and they dont do anything to the rankings

Sure, except for some pages ... like profile pages have do-follow ... and Google's url shortener is also do-follow and 301 ... so they do transfer juice.:yumyum:

You got any reading matterial around that. Would love to go through it.

I've made the thread exactly for this reason. We dont want to sit down and code like crazy for weeks and then find out nobody wants our stuff and its no use! :P

i have been building links for a while and never seen ANY google properties push ranking

the latest fad for google was their 'profiles' link which were "do follow" but it never improved ranking

i used angela/pauls and all their links are much better than googles links and yahoos directory link

not sure why but it seems google negates their own external links

but as you know....google likes to change/shift their algo

would love to see if it's changed

Blogger is actually doing really really well. Even if you post god awful garbage on blogger it gets indexed and does really well. So we were pushing to get more google products on board.

Thanks for your inputs. :) ... I'd really like to see what others feel about this :)
