May be a dumb question. But I would really like to know.
I have a few private proxies that requires id and password to work with scrapebox. Can those be used for browsing (chrome, internet explorer, etc) as well?

Where to put the user id / password ?

Would appreciate some reply. Thanks.

Not sure about directly in the browser but you can download third party tools where you input it and it routes your whole connection (video games, programs, etc) including your browser through the proxy you put in. Its been a while since I used a free one but I think TOR can do it.

Firefox has a place to put the login for your proxy. Chrome uses Windows proxy settings.

yea, its easy to do with firefox

just click your firefox button in the top left > options > settings > manual proxy configuration > then insert your proxy and port and click OK. now you will probably need to enter user and pass once you try to go back to a web site if you are using private proxy

lol now I feel dumb. Because I didn't see a place for login I'm using software to do that, never thought that I'd just put the proxy info in and then I'd get prompted when I start browsing! Thanks guys saved 30 seconds of my life :)

You can manage multiple proxies easily in Firefox with addons such as MultiProxy

Thank you guys. I find it easy to deal with firefox. It asked for the id and pw the first time. If you save it, you won't need to reenter all the time. cheers :)
