You see, a lot of people probably will be good at keyword research if they had enough funds for the trial n error processes until they perfected the act. I'm a newbie. and I learn the most when I follow direct instructions, like do this do that then I replicate with other niches on my own after1 successful run.

I really don't like the vague descriptions up and around everywhere of how to make money or do this or that that leads to a lot of wasted money. I'm not trying to be spoon fed but I believe If there was at least one guide or e book that would take you exactly through the process until at least 50 bucks is earned i.e. Pick a niche, do the keyword research, build the site, build link pushes or link wheels via web 2.0's , what ever is effective these days. do sb blasts, xrummer, amr, ping, bmd, I mean the works until it makes at least, 50 bucks.

I mean if we newbies had some one to show exact steps and give us directives, no guess work (considering as a newbie there is usually limited cash) that would amazing

Well for me if I can see(view/watch video) a process like this, it would take me places n I will be able to replicate the process differently, I am sure other newbies would agree.

May b its just me but I think that will actually be a very good e-book or tutorial because it will include everything from:

1. choosing a niche (process and why that niche was chosen)
2. keyword research
3. build site (word-press)
4. Link building (content links through link pushes via web 2.0's, blog commenting, forum profiles etc.)
5. make the site rank and earn at least 50 bucks.

If a tut can be made like that, there will a lot answered but the vague descriptions could be very overwhelming.

I like what BTB is doing but too bad its not for the public. He picked two total newbies and taking them from nothing to something

Very nice bro, i really appreciate that, I know now to use the search button on here but I really can't find anything recent on deciding on a niche to follow most posts im seeing are 2008-09, mayb im not searching the right way. Thanks for the heads up.

The search function is useful but not always efficient. With thousands of threads sometimes it can be a task filtering the junk and questions from the real gems.

I too was looking for something similar to what you are looking for. I found some excellent guides, but they where bits here and bits their.

I wasn't sure what to go for and ended up going for something that was pretty much useless. I really should have read more, it was my own fault. I heard the cries of take action, so action I took, ended up with lemons.

I can relate to what you're saying regarding money too. I hit a bit of a wall financially recently, ended up spending money I could ill afford trying to get ahead on my site. While the money I spent may have been chicken feed to others, chicken feed to me too in the past. It left me with nowt to try but free bloggs. So even If I see a domain it'll have to wait for another couple of weeks at least. But hey! at least I'm a time millionaire.

I imagine BTB's blogg will be a great resource when it hit's. Even if like Abtroose says the guides are here, it's hard for a new guy with no experience to separate the wheat from the chaff. That said thanks for the links Abtroose, I'll be sure to read them.

Best SEO practices change as google makes updates and changes to it's algorithms. The basics are fairly constant but you need to keep up with the specifics on what works best. You can learn a lot from older SEO tutorials (especially the basics) so it's still worth reading them, but you'll definitely want to read newer guides to really get the most current information.

That doesn't really apply the same with niche research though.
The things that matter for selecting a niche (and/or products to promote) haven't really changed much. An older guide from 2008-09 on how to select a good niche will most likely be just as helpful today as it was when written. The only real thing you need to watch for in older threads on niche research is some of the recommended tools might not be available. If you run into a problem like that just look for a newer tool that does the same thing. Even that isn't a big deal though because some of best tools have had regular updates and are still around.

I'd like to know about this rule too, coaching sounds like a beneficial thing and I can't understand under what circumstances it would be disallowed.

Except maybe if it was mainly geared towards teaching you how to use a product that needs to be bought and is an indirect method of selling that product outside the BST thread.

But even then ... if you've bought a BST thread already, why wouldn't coaching be allowed? I've seen dozens of threads on "case study using ______ product". To me, that seems a whole lot less useful than "how to use ______ product successfully tutorial".
