I'm targeting a fairly competitive keyword, and the EMD is not available.

The keyword is 20 characters long btw. Also, the keyword is health related.

KEYWORDblog.com
KEYWORD101.com
aboutKEYWORD.com
KEYWORDsite.com
KEYWORDguide.com
KEYWORDhelp.com

What do you guys think?

which ever one fits best with the keyword I suppose, (IE if keyword was computer, computer help would prob be the best one).

I would possibly say keep the keyword first as well?

Are these domains new? my advice is to find an old domain, it will be much better from different points, that's if you are looking to rank it high.

Good points. Thanks buddy.

Yeah, they are. I considered possibly buying an aged domain, but it probably wouldn't have the keyword in the domain. So an aged domain (non EMD) is better than an EMD keyword that is new?

keywordblog and keywordguide would be best.

Thanks SahL

KeywordReview.com ranks best in my experience.

Hm, yeah, I've read that a lot. Thing is though, I'd assume that works best with product reviews? This is for the symptoms of a disease. For example; symptomsofdiabetesreview.com. Not sure that would work well.

I think that can still work. Your main idea is ranking on google and review works for google :)

Fair enough. :D

I was just looking at GoDaddy auctions, and a decent domain is available for $5. It doesn't have the full keyword in it, but it does have the disease name, and the domain is 1 year old. For example:

aboutdiabetes.net

Go? Or no go?

try to get the domain with a name of some doctor - a person who is an authority in that field... after that - make money as long as you can ;)

I'm pretty sure that'd be breaking some law out there :p

I vote for KEYWORDguide.com

I don't know if guide will work well because the keyword is health related. Not sure if it'd make sense.

the .net for that is available, but not .com. Not too sure if I want to go with a .net for this site. Thanks though

Go with the .net, mate. Its better than -guide, -help, etc.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. But then I got stuck over thinking if .com really has any more power than a .net does.

Depends on your purpose.
Say you have will have adsense like revenue generation from it, for that get anything.Because people need not need a catchy URL to come to your site. Google will rank your site and inner pages according to your page content. And for that you might need a lot of content and more pages are merrier.

You want to have an affiliate page for that health product (=Keyword), then go for review extension. If you can get Keyword.net then it will be best.

You want to develop a product, do not use any of those extensions, use something like KeyWordGuru.com

Thank you everyone. I ended up going with keywordtips.com :)
