I used to get 1.99 domains at yahoo small business for the first year, then transfer them to godaddy. Now they are not providing such cheap domains...

Where do you guys get domains? Any recommendation?

if you can take risk, 1and1 gives 0.99 cents per domain.
netfirms also have some promo codes..

Netfirms $4.95 domain
CYBER495 or promo495

Well, what is the risk exactly? Domains registered there might not being able to transfer to other registrar such as godaddy?

IMShane, you can find other threads about 1and1 here.
i did not got any problem with them, and i have some 7 domains registered through 1and1 and successfully transferred all of them.
but many people dont like 1and1

Out of curiosity why would you want to transfer to godaddy? Only used 1&1 once it was a nightmare to transfer but that might not mean you could have smooth transaction.

Because the catch in yahoo $1.99 domain is that they will charge you about $30 from the second year later on. So I guess nobody would stick with such expensive fees.

With so many people having problems with godaddy, was just wondering. There a lot of godaddy coupons listed around this site, might be the best if your going to transfer it there anyway.

I would check out NameCheap. They give you free Whois protection for the first year free i believe.

netfirms also give free whois.
also, the price is bit low compared with namecheap i think.
you can register 1 domain for 4.95 with the coupon shared above..

Well, after reading lots of people having problems with godaddy, I think I might want to try with NameCheap in future.

Thanks mate.

nope usually, but the gaining registrar will charge a fee.. and that will add +1 year for domain....

I second Netfirms. Have dozens of domains with them for $4.95

Do you have to register a new account to use the 4.95 coupon or you can use it to buy as many domains as you want with a same account?

ImShane, only one time the coupon works I think.
Earlier, worked two times in an account.

Last year, I registered two netfirms account and regged one domain each on them with coupon.

I use in the last weeks Namesilo, transfer many domains from GD and NC to them.

Free whois, good prices and you also finde some coupon codes.

The price for domains are relative the same, some times they give a discount

Namecheap is the best, not the cheapest. They do have $2 US domains.
