I'm posting this here because I think it'll be a good way for me to keep track of what I'm doing and maybe it'll help some others.

I'm starting out with a fan page I created that has 3,323 fans as of this moment.

My goal is to get it up to 10k fans.

I'm currently doing next to no promotion to build the fan base.

I announced a contest on my page a few days ago to increase fans, but the response was pretty pitiful so I kinda dropped it.

Here's what I'm planning...

• Running CPM ads on Facebook
• Getting the page up on page 1 for key terms
• Finding new ways to get users to share the page
• Posting on pages in similar niches to get new fans
• Any other techniques I can find

At just 3k it's already earning me a few hundred a month with CPA, so I really want to ramp this up and get to 10k as fast as I can. There are only two other pages in my niche that have more fans than I do, and I'm pretty sure I can beat both of them eventually.

One has just under 10k and the other has over 42k.

Obviously I'm a bit smaller than these guys, but hopefully in the next few weeks I'll be able to at least double my fan count.

Also, I won't be revealing my niche, so don't ask.

I hope somebody can learn something from this journal.

Since I posted last I've added 4 new fans to my page.

I put a comment on the wall of the other two pages I mentioned in my first post, and so far there's no interaction with them (not sure about clicks, obviously since it's just a naked FB link to my page) but we'll see how many new fans I get by the end of the day.

Well, I've gone back to running a single ad and it's getting a solid CPM and a few hundred new fans from just a couple bucks. My $10 budget for the day is only 1/3 gone, so we'll see what it's like at the end of the day. Running some ads may be all I need to do to hit 10k in the next few weeks.

Are you able to track if you have fans who consistent get your offers? I've always been curious about that. For 3k fans, a few hundred per month isn't so bad depending the conversion rate.

You know, it wouldn't be too hard to do that actually. Cookie them and just see how often that cookie gets routed through a custom URL shortener.

You can probably do that with Tracking 202 or whatever that's called.

Definitely happy to hear you're having success with CPM marketing since that is what I'm planning on using to build my pages, if you haven't read the ebook "One Penny Clicks" I would definitely look into it, it came out a few days ago and someone already shared on BHW I can PM you the link to the thread, if you have read it I would love to hear your opinion on it.

Just curious if you don't mind saying how large is your target audience for the ads you're running and what kind of CTR are you getting?

Since you can't direct link to CPA offers from a facebook fan page are you posting links to blog posts with the link to a cpa offer?

Any tips for someone just starting out? Also good luck hitting 10k it doesn't seem it'll take long for you since you're already having success with cpm ads.

When the first version of the One Penny Clicks product came out I was an early adopter and that's actually how I started earning on FB. And, to be completely transparent, I've got 5 different pages all sitting at about the same number of friends that I'm working on - all are consistently profitable too, which is nice

So, first of all, anyone thinking about getting into Facebook NEEDS to have the One Penny Clicks guide.

My target audience is less than 200k on Facebook but my ads target less than 50k per run, sometimes MUCH smaller than that.

My CTR usually ranges between .8% and 2%, usually closer to 1.2%. I don't run any single ad for more than a few days because then it gets worn out with the smaller groups I target.

For CPA, I don't have a ton of time this morning, but I'll definitely add some of my ideas to this thread over time. So keep your eyes peeled here.

Well, the first day of this little journal added over 1k new fans to my fan page.

Here's a summary of what I did yesterday. I'll give more details if anybody has specific questions.

• Posted on 2 other fan page walls with a link back to my page
• Started an ad and getting a .9% CTR (was upwards of 1.5% earlier) at the moment and it's costing me $0.08 CPM

Honestly, I'm a little worried about it all now though with Facebook just releasing their new story thing.

They're now showing stories from people/pages you interact with the most at the top of your wall instead of the most recent or most popular, so my status updates, which would before get TONS of views, likes, and comments, might not do so well...

Either way, I'm just going to keep on trucking with this and see if it actually ends up mattering much.

I've done quite well so far, so let's hope it stays that way.

Still running the same ad as before and as of this second, I'm getting a .74% CTR. Once it drops below .5% I'll turn copy the ad and try it with different demographics as I'm being pretty specific to age and all that goodness.

I found a cool new technique that enabled me to break my record for CPA on my Facebook page on Wednesday too. So that was nice

It basically consisted of taking a photo that was shared on the wall, uploading it to the wall myself and posting a link in the description.

I'm also trying out some stuff with contests to increase my fans and get people to fill out CPA offers. It hasn't done excellently yet, but it gets a LOT of attention on my pages so there's a way to funnel their excitement into CPA, I just need to find it.

It looks like my traffic has dropped a little, but not a ton.

Also, it seems like there's been a LOT of people complaining about Facebook's new change... Maybe they'll end up changing it back if enough people complain.

I am also in a same situation but still fighting for getting better solution, CPM can be good but can be expensive, in my view what i have get from there i think have to spent little more time and share page on the relevant page in all facebook, it will take time but it can be effective.

well all i can say is good luck but ..ur method dosent looks interesting ..as i can get 100k fans in 4days ..i have developed my own methods and using from past 3 years...my thods dosent includes spamming ..my fans r 100% real and targeted..i promote my adsense website and cpa.....so dud u r lacking behind a lot...i almost get 15k-20k per day on my pages...i have 750k,740k,690k,440k,350k,etc ..i have total of 35 pages
