Google+ is no longer ?Invitation Only?!

This will be interesting to see how quick the numbers jump now that everyone can join. The team at Google+ has been very actively recruiting new users at college campuses so this is about to get even more interesting.

This is a statement from Vic Gundofra from the Google+ blog:

For the past 12 weeks we?ve been in field trial, and during that time we?ve listened and learned a great deal. We?re nowhere near done, but with the improvements we?ve made so far we?re ready to move from field trial to beta, and introduce our 100th feature: open signups. This way anyone can visit google.com/+, join the project and connect with the people they care about.

Whether or not it grows fast (ppl were ready to swear that for buzz too, a little search on some old posts will be a good source of lulz), my guns are ready to hit where it hurts already. That's the only thing I care for.

Let's just hope the flood of retards is big and steady for a while.

Google have done it better than facebook before.. but no one used it! I wonder if they are opening it up to everyone because they realized that no one is bothering with google+ beyond the first day or so, because most of their friends are not on there.

Google may just have to bite the bullet and write the biggest check in history and buy facebook.

Lol, it's been less than half a day and I've already got 11 new G+ friend requests (from my actual acquaintances, not randoms). Looks like it's kicking of nicely!

Been using Google+ since trial started, it's very clean and crisp - done very nicely. Haven't tried marketing with it though; don't want to get my personal account banned.

Looks like Facebook is feeling the heat.

They now have a "Subscribe" option. Basically, it's like the "Following" feature on G+ where you can follow people without connecting with them.
