Google is not stupid - this is where 90% of suckers drop out and stop trying to rank their website, so congratulations on making it this far firstly, and I hope you keep the motivation to keep on with this site. If you have the keyword EMDs or have made money from this site to an efficient degree, keep at it, and reanalyze your top 10 for the keywords firstly to make sure hasn't done a reshuffle and there are not some strong high PR aged domains sitting above you now.

The Google dance is designed to throw off people solely searching for Google rankings. It's designed to be disheartening, but true quality websites will not be looking to only have Google rankings. Instead, they will continue building links. Google knows this (what don't they know) and so the dance is there to throw off people who will not continue making quality material after they have been downranked.

Hwoever, for those who do continue, Google will rank them much more strongly. They will come back after x days/weeks/months with a higher value to Google than before. You must now continue your strategy - slightly incline the amount of content you put up in a given time (so if you're posting 2 articles a week, now post 3 or 4 every week) and backlink these more strongly. Most importantly, target these for other keywords! No website that is natural will continue producing articles solely directed at one keyword, and Google will notice this.

Drop to #60 does not sound like a Google penalty (usually there are -10, -25, or -50), but in the event that it is a Google penalty, it will take a long time to rank for those keywords. The only way to find out if you've been penalised is to think back if you've done anything particularly outstandingly blackhat on your website. If not, carry on soldier, produce HQ articles and content, backlink each with either web 2.0 or smaller niche sites, and produce manually commented backlinks from high PR articles and blogs, and .edu blogs.

Good luck

I mainly agree with the majority of what you have said apart from the above statement.....you are implying that G00gle has a degree of 'feeling' within its algorythm - its a program lets not forget and is not capable of cognative actions such as those 'designed to throw off people'. In my view the 'dance' is simply the aglo assessing and evaluating incoming links. It needs computational power to apply to this task and as such needs some time to calculate it - if I designed it, this would not nessasarily be my #1 task, fetching pages and indexing them quickly would be.

Therefore, the 'dance' is simply an assesment which is done in the background. Once it has asessed the quality of the links and scored them you will typically return to your previous position or stronger as happens in most cases.

I just got back for one my blogs from nowhere to #13 and will see what will be in next 1 month, because right now i working everyday on that blog. Before this G danced so much..

put most content and build more links this has once happened to me.

Ok..
For the last week i have "Danced" from #40 to #70 every day like 2 changes of positions
Now i see im not in top 1000
Is this the google dance process ?

It is absolutely possible to code in unusual behaviours in order to obfuscate and make it harder to manipulate the system. Nobody has suggest that it is self aware, merely that the system is built with the knowledge that millions of people are trying to game it every single day. To suggest that it hasn't got various layers of obfuscation and confusing behaviour built in merely for the sake of being confusing and making it harder to see what's causing your successful rankings is EXTREMELY naive.

My point was in relation to the interpretation of the Google dance if you read my response. I was not discussing the nuiances of the high level security measures G has in place - it is of course clear that there are various measures and layers of security which are designed to conceal the way in which it ranks pages with the index.....
