What can I offer an offline client

Hi Guys

I am meeting an offline client tomorrow who is looking to get a presence on facebook for his restuarant . He contacted me through a friend

When I spoke to him over the phone, he asked about the costs etc of getting set up so I had to sound like an expert and I pulled some figures from the top of my head

I told him that I usually charge 400euro set up fee and 200 euro per month to maintain the system and set up etc.

Now, what can I offer this client tomorrow to justify this money . I know this is putting the cart before the horse but he caught me on the hop when he called me and I feel there is ways to justify this price for local businesses on facebook

I would really be grateful if you could point me in the right direction or recommend a good facebook local business system that I can download.

He owns a restaurant, so he will understand that you need to sell him on the sizzle and not the steak.

A couple of points ... stay off the jargon. Keep it simple.

Show him how he can use facebook
a. to get people talking about the restaurant
b. find groups/events in the area that he can market to
c. allow users to share/recommend and input ...
d. get to know who his customers are .... e.g. email with discount for person whose birthday is in a month ... they will probably be looking for a birthday party venue
e. allow coupons to go viral ... also surveys, competitions, etc.
f. integrate with twitter ... see more on coupons and getting them to go viral
g. If you can dig up status updates of locals already asking about his restaurant or asking for recommendations for restaurants.
h. You get bonus points if you can find local examples of businesses already using facebook and then show how you will be better than this.
i. super bonus points if you can integrate FB with his existing site & Google+ & Mobile & Twitter ... also opportunity to upsell him from the stupid Flash based site his restaurant probably currently has, to something more SEO friendly.

In short, sell him on the idea that Facebook will allow him to
1. reach more customers easily ... e.g. cheaper than traditional advertising+targetted
2. make more money from existing customers .... e.g. coupons+offers can go viral, plus conversations with customers

and I mean the best thing I think you can do.

Is go and find other ppl on here who do this.

Remember restaurant only want one thing. MORE customers.

Show him all the features that will bring him MORE customers.

don't wast ur time with explaining things that won't bring in MORE customers.

Remember everything he does is for MORE customers.

Also, this FB is a place for him to announce coupons or special deals or special promotions.

He would be better off getting a "presence" on Google Reviews rather than Facebook. Facebook is only popular with certain kinds of people, and it is a mistake to assume that because there are lots of Facebook people, all people looking for restaurants use Facebook.

People looking for restaurants, and people deciding whether or not to go to a particular restaurant use Google reviews. Google "<your home town> + indian + food" (or italian, or whatever) and see what is offered at the top of Google's listing. That's right, their own reviews for their own search results. Not facebook. You won't find facebook in the first 10 pages, much less the first 10 results.

I know someone reputed to be an SEO "genius" because he blackhats fake reviews for his customer's brick & mortar businesses, and that's ALL the SEO he does. Personally, I think if you pitch FB, and someone else comes along and pitches Google reviews, you are going to lose the gig and a signficant chunk of reputation. You go onto FB looking for pussy. Google reviews is for restaurants and other small businesses.
