I made an index.html page very very simple from text and an Amazon affiliate code but its all scrunched up text at the top.


Any tips to make it look a bit better?

O should I just get FronPage ?

Try "Alleycode" software, usually fixes the text for me.

You can't just paste text into a txt file and then rename it to index.html. Well I guess you can (you already proved that, lol), but it definitely won't look the way you want it to. Html ignores line breaks and white space and will just scrunch the text all together up at the top.

To create an index.html file and have it format things they way you want, you'll have to learn at least some basic html codes.

Go to www.w3schools.com and look through their free html tutorial. You can learn most of what you need for a simple page just on the first few pages of the tutorial and then just skip through the rest looking for what you need to make the formatting how you want.

Even if you just want to use some html template and only need to change a few things to customize it for your own use, it will still be helpful to at least understand the basic codes you see in the html files.
