Just seen my Competitor's site getting Sandboxed !

Hi everyone

I just seen my competitor's site getting sandboxed.I am targeting a keyword since last 2 months.The site which was ranking at #1 for that keyword was at #1 since I started SEO for that Keyword for my site.It has been more than two months and the competitor's site was still at #1 position.It had some good content.Though.all its backlinks were Scrapebox blasted comments.It was there at #1 till last night.

Today,when I searched my Keyword,the site was GONE !

No trace of it whatsoever.It is now not even cached in Google and not a single page is indexed.This proves it isn't a Google Dance

This just makes me wonder how can a site which was ranking at #1 for last 2 months suddenly gets Sandboxed?Xrumer?Heavy Scrapebox Blast? Or his competitors blasted his site overnight?

Shit happens. There aint much you can do about it now. Wait a few days, maybe googlebot came to the site when the server was down and dropped the site. This has happened to me before.

Hey its not my site mate.Its my competitors site.I am pretty happy about Sandbox as it has raised my site from #4 to #3 lol

I had this happen for one of my money sites as well, completely white hat with all natural backlinks. I was ranked #2 consistently behind a .NET when I was the .COM for the EMD. A few months back, about the time of the second Panda update, my competitors site completely disappeared for all keywords but is still indexed. This site also has naturally built backlinks and nothing that stands out in his backlink portfolio.

The only true difference between my site and his is that I've got a better writer and update the content at regular intervals. Its a very interesting case study as neither of us were doing any sort of linkbuilding what so ever for our sites.

I find it hard to believe that this was caused thru an XR/SB blast...

Like it was said in other threads, if that would be the case everyone could just blast the top 10 in google to heaven and make some room up there
