G00gle Places active not showing in search

Hello friends
I have about 12 active GP listings not showing in search. Wierd.
My customers are raging mad. What do I do?
About to dump GP.

I think it depends on how you went about when you created the listings for them. For example, if you didn't create any citations and just went ahead and submitted a listing and then verified it, you likely won't see your listing in the SERPS for some time.

If you did make citations before making the google places listing, then go ahead and build some quality back links to your citations and this might help.

I built so many already without citations. Nevertheless, in Africa I'm not sure which citations to use since most direcetories are US and UK based. Thanks anyway, I'll go dig into citations and use what I find.

Hi there,

I am not sure either which one for Africa. Here in Aus, you don't need too many citations in some smaller towns, because it is not competitive. But I would say it IS important to make the citations, at least a few, before making the Google Places to give Google some trust that you are a real 'local business'.

Also, maybe make a new Google account for each local business listing you make, unless the listings are all for the same business, just in different areas of town.

I have different accounts for some customers, some places are under the same account..Thanks...the places are now showing in search but took much too long.
