PR with and without www

I found on godaddy auctions a domain with PR 2. I checked on rankchecker and the same domain without www has PR 0. What is the actual PR ? if I buy this domain I will have a PR 0 domain or a PR 2 domain ? someone can explain me ?

Just out of curiosity have you checked to see if it is valid PR? I would be sceptical if I was to buy a domain like that.

It doesn't really matter which one has the PR. You are going to redirect one to the other anyway so if it is on domain.com then redirect www.domain.com to domain.com. Make sure and double check that it is legit PR before purchasing.

It depends on how you set the website up. I have a few that have different PR's on the www and non www. Just setup the site to use the one that has the highest PR, it is usually the version that has the most links anyway. Not really a big issue as long as you are sure that the PR 2 is valid.

It can but it really depends as there are a lot of variables. Are you talking about a dropped domain? Is there a site on it now? If not how long has it been down? Generally speaking a non dropped domain that continually has a site up will not drop until the next update even if the links do not support the current PR. This gives you time for some link building to keep the drop from happening. A dropped domain can lose the PR but not always, especially if there was a very short time with no website/content. The longer the time the domain was without content the more likely that the PR will not stick.
