Why are you all so pagerank mad?

The reason folk on BHW are a little pissed is because when one makes a generalised statement asking "Why are you all pagerank mad?", you're painting everyone with the same brush and assumes a certain lack of inteligence on this place.

This post on other forums would attract different responses, but when asking this here, at a place where some (ahem) interesting methods are used by some, to push ones site up, you may as well have been saying "You guys totally insult my inteligence as am so much better at SEO than all of you"

Surely it would have been better to say - "Why are some people so pagerank mad?", instead of coming to a black hat forum and throwing an untrue sweeping statement at the members.

There are some members here that think so far outside the box, it is scary and they have probably forgotten more about SEO than you or I will ever learn, so just be careful when making generalisations, as this really isn't the place to do it.

Well that's the kick i get out of people who "know" telling me why i'm so stupid :D

When i started the thread i was after cheap entertainment, and i definitely had that from 95% of the people who on this thread tell us "pagerank is the only way" hha.

Cough, Troll* :D

Why even feed into this guy? He obviously has a Napoleon complex and rides a white pony but fails to see he is the hunchback of Notre Dame here without the happy ending. :D

DP reject for sure and good at selling shit, time for you to move to WF and sell an ebook with all of your "fascinating" view points on PR. :D

E books are for dead beats who can't make an honest living.

So are you going to be the one who has anything to disprove what i've so far said or are you one of the "pagerank is the only way" guys?

Oh, my assumption of you was wrong? Moving on then. :D

Do you really want to hear my viewpoints? Logic would say that after reading over the thread that the answer would be no. Someone with the intellectual power that you claim to possess I feel would have seen this answer too.
Shame, I thought you would be a fun troll to play with. :(

Why must you ask questions to which you already know...

From now on, I'll just call you Charles. :D

You're right and you're wrong:

- yes, toolbar PR is out of date. No one is contesting that.

- no, that doesn't make it invalid for buying decisions. For the simple reasons that:
a) toolbar PR rarely goes down significantly. The only reasons for minor drops in PR are a slowing of link acquisition in relation to the rest of the web or a recalibration of toolbar PR. For example, in adult for a long time the maximum possible PR was 6, then they shifted it to 5 so all the big PR 6 sites went down a notch.
b) The exception to this is PR 0s or grey bars are generally applied immediately with no wait until the next toolbar export. Thus, if you see a page has a PR 6 (and it's not faked) then, regardless of the unknowable "real" current PR, you can still be reasonably certain that it's a significant page and you are going to get some benefit from buying a link there.

- BHW is not "pagerank mad" and the "PR doesn't matter' mantra is chanted here daily.

- most people base their link buying decisions on a number of factors and not just PR eg. Alexa and other traffic measures, backlink counts in the main tools, number of outgoing links and link position on the page etc. This goes for buying domains as well as buying backlinks.

- as has already been stated, link buying is an art not a science and however flawed, toolbar PR is still one of the best ballpark tools we have.

Your attitude in this thread quite clearly demarcates you as a complete idiot, and that's quite apart from the gaping holes in your logical abilities that leave you ignorant of why toolbar PR is still a useful tool that should be utilized as appropriate.

Do us all a favour and fuck off then! Please!

Why is it when someone has a different point of view that the "master of BHW" you start with the kindergarten name calling. I personally don't give a "fuck", but it just really make all of you look so uneducated.

Give people on the board some courtesy and grow up. This reminds me of all the Barack Obama idiots who go nuts when someone disagrees with their tyrants point of view.

I originally started as an aid to all the people on here who literally go on and on and on about pr. I guess i took it upon myself to educate the masses. Maybe i should have left all these people to continue outside of the truth :D

I have to agree. Resorting to name calling and especially swearing on public forums, do make people come across as uneducated ;)

I know, you have me as you never actually said you were educated, but I just couldn't resist.

Trying to educate, or help fellow members is a good thing, but there are better ways to do it and applying some netiquette, than to completely alienate everyone.

I reckon though even if the title was "why are some people pr mad" i still would have been trolled by people telling me i was from "dp" and to "go fuck myself" haha.

No offence dude but you're trying to preach SEO to the guys that fucking do it for a living. It's like you reading one book on hammers and telling a builder how to build a house.

This thread is so fucked up. Leave please?

I wouldn't say I'm PR mad, but it's a fairly good indication of how G values your site. Not a great indicator, but it can help. Of course it's worthless when G goes 9 months without updating it!

I have PR0 sites that rank well in google and make hundreds of dollars monthly. Then I have higher PR sites that make nothing......except from all the people who want to buy links only because they have PR.

So, yeah, keep pushing the PR PR. it helps me out, even though when I build links for my own sites I focus a lot more on relevancy and context.

AMEN!! I agree 100% but maybe we should keep our mouths shut! :D

I have a lot of PR 0 (new sites) and 1 that make money and I am sitting above PR 3 -5 all the time.

SEO and content will out rank PR if you do it correctly.
