SCORPIOHOST - Worst host, ruined site, spread the word please!

I have had a movie blog that grew in traffic rather quickly and every host I dealt with was of poor quality (offshore hosting itself is a risk!), finally I thought I found a good one when signing up with scorpiohost.... boy was I wrong!

Since dealing with them my site has been 6 times in 3 months, and just this week the assholes had a whole server go down... and lost all backups of my site and god knows how many others... What kind of idiot hosting backs up files on the same server?!!!

They totally killed my 12k a day site and an income streeam of 40 to 50 bucks a day! I had just deleted my database backups a few days earlier, so returning the site on my new host is going to have to be from a very old backup... I was actually selling the site on flippa because I have a lot of family issues to deal with, but this fucked me royally! They have no excuses as to why the server died or why they do not have my site backed up, I really think they just wanted to fuck me for whatever reason. What a douchebag lowlife company... They even closed my cpanel each month near the end of the month when I was paying for it recurring through pp!

I could go on for days about how horrible and slow their support is, how my load averages were always high, how the site crashes a lot, etc etc

Their service should be shut down, and I'm going to make it my fkn crusade to spread the word of how bad a host they are!

Anyone else who has been screwed by them please sound off! I need some support!

I agree with you. Dealt with them for about a year and experienced nothing but nightmares. And when the servers drop they will not respond until everything is back up and the only thing that they have to say is "its up now".

Stopped dealing with them a few months back when they tried to suspend my account without warning.

They just screwed another of my friends today, I just finished helping him get his site on track... (I was obligated because I recommended the swine to him).

I'm sure they have pissed off a lot of other people recently too...

Lot's of people. You'd be amazed. Most people think data just disappears somehow, and the backup copy replaces it and everything is good. It never occurs to them that the reason why the data disappears is because the hard drive fails, and it takes everything with it, including their backup copy. Never trust your data to anyone but yourself. There are just some things you do not delegate.

I worked for one retard that saved almost 4 million dollars worth of data on a single hard drive. When I proposed they run a mirrored RAID (two hard drives that look to the computer as a single drive, so it's written twice on two different drives) to guarantee the data if one of the HD's failed, they told me they could not afford it. I tell this story all the time, to show how stupid stupid can get.

This should be an eye opener for some about data redundancy. Make copies of your copies and always use a RAID solution along with backups. There are stories all over the net about this happening in web-hosting environments....very sad.

I'm in the same boat!

Dealing with them for a while now, and they have ups and downs. But the downs get more and more every day...
I wanted to start a campaign today, but both of my plans with them are not reachable. This sucks so much...

I submitted a support ticket with HIGH, and after 6 hours STILL no response!
This is ridiculous...

Their contact page states:

We can be reached 24/7 to answer all of your support related needs

WTF?!?!?!

When my sites are up again, I'll backup everything and move all my domains and data to a new and reliable host...

I'm done with these bitches... :saeek:

Yes these guys suck!! EVERYONE Stay away from them. I almost want to open a website "scorpio host reviews" bc they are that bad. I seriously sent 4 tickets and never got one reply.

Thanks for the replies guys! Justice will be served one day! I was thinking of SB blasting them with keywords like "we host warez,cp,etc" and shit like that, but I'm not as low as they are and have no desire to drop that low. I'll eventually figure out something to sedate my thirst for revenge though...
