FB is great if you have a general demographics product/service, or can narrow down to a more targeted group. For instance, if you have skin care offers, target women 30+ with pictures of older women.

FB can be good also with CPA offers.. But with FB ads you have to be careful. People are NOT on FB to buy something. They are socializing. Dont sell them in your ads. You will be ignored...

Yes i tried. Spent much money but without impressive results

It's good for advertising things people can associate closely with their online identity and feel cool or validated for liking it. Not so good for sending them to an external site to sell your whatchamacallits.
