Work for a business that is legit, though very aggressive. We had a competitor put up a "rip off" page about us and if clients would actually read what is posted they will see that its a competitor that did it.

The fact of the matter is it doesn't matter how/why it got there but its on page one in spot 4 for my companies name. "Reputation" companies will bury most links but have trouble with this specific site. Had one company tell me that could get it "banned' So I assume they get that specific page sandboxed. Is that possible to get one single page of a site sandboxed? and if so what are they doing running a huge xrumer blast?

Seems to me that we would be running the risk of making it stronger not killing it? How big of a blast is needed to make it go away? What would it cost?

My thoughts exactly. Although you could try doing excessive blasting to the page, it might actually make it stronger and it will move to number one. I think the best thing is to write articles and make pages that support your organization and try to outrank the negative page with seo.

hit me up.

we have been "burying" links for very competitive keywords.

And no you can not get that ripoffreport link buried.

All that you will do is rank it even higher if you start making backlinks to it,,

the best advice i can give you is something I heard here on bhw. If you can post comments on the actual page Add small image that is hosted on your server(not linked to the site in question) and then wait awhile for it to burry and the replace the image on the server with porn.

then report it to google and it will get it de-indexed.

We do two things :
- We try to outrank the negative review page with our pages/other website
- We blast the competitor with thousands of backlinks with anchor texts like "buy viagra", "cheap viagra", ... and we ping this backlinks :D

This will work with some obscure website , but not with sites like ripoffreport or scaminformer unfortunately.

alright so i knew a guy that had an issue with rip off report. I see that his page is now on three instead of one.

Looks like a lot of twitter, facebook etc on front page now.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I should probably start SEO on my name so that in case anything ever DOES happen They will have some challenge to show anything against me.

Not that I rip people off but still you never know who will talk crap

Although what executivecloser said might just work but when I think of my boss coming to open the site and seeing a raunchy image, well Idon't want to think about it. Just do useful promotions for the page and pray. Get some good quality content on it as well.

I wonder if that would work.. putting a porn image and reporting to google... interesting..

Have you checked out Englandrm's post [METHOD] Reputation Management, How To Guide? Similar issue addressed there.
