If contextual links rank you higher.....

Wouldn't it be better to use that on auto approve blog comments?

I'm not even talking about scrapebox.

Let's say you are doing manual blog comments, wouldn't it be better if you surrounded your link with content related to your keyword? I mean, the comment is going to get approved anyway.. so why not?

The only question is...

what is relevant content? is it 100 words? is it 200?

For example, if you use a single sentence when posting manual comments .. like...

"car insurance provides security."

let's say car insurance is your anchor text link... how is the above sentence relevant content? The only relevant keyword is the anchor text link itself....

what if you used two sentences in your comment?

"Car insurance(anchor text) provides security. It's important to find cheap car insurance."

I'm guessing this would be better, more relevant content since car insurance is mentioned twice. Once for the anchor text and again in the second sentence.


Am I right?

Yep, although some sites wont allow html in your comment. Also, some site owners could deem your message as spam still, but contextual linking is better.

IMO you want a blend of context based on your keyword, site, and the content of the blog you're commenting on... however from my research Google Panda frowns upon over-stuffing of keywords in and around backlinks. So... you wanna have SOME, but not a ton. In other words: a natural looking compromise.

Right, and they don't need to allow it.

Another way you could exploit it is make your name area the anchor text link, and the comment area could carry your actual comment.

That would depend on how many words your comment is... if it were me I'd only mention the exact keyword once and then some of the keywords found in the page title of the page I'm linking to maybe once more. You MAY be able to stuff a little bit more, but as I said rumor has it that Panda is a lot more sensitive to keyword stuffing within comments.

Otherwise you'll be mentioning "discount ear pickers" several times in a 30 word comment on a football blog and Google isn't that dumb.

In my opinion, Google really is that dumb.

How can it discern what the topic of the site is?

It could look at the title and all the other content but I really don't think Google is some super machine that can do things no one else can.

Contextual links would really be great if only somehow html links would be allowed in the post body as well. But links are links and they have their worth.
