[Keyword Researching For Micro Niche Sites Tips ]

Hi there , i just purchased a micro niche site service and they just sent me some keywords , asking whether i am ok with them. I wasnt that sure how i was going to evaluate whether they are good or bad keywords , so i decided to ask some members here. Some suggested Traffic Travis , so i went with it. Below are some screenshots of the keywords they gave me. I hope you guys can help me figure out whether these keywords are worth progressing with. Im just hoping i can earn a few bucks from these sites. Thanks in advance !

CEXT :Number of sites linking to domain from country (Top level domain ) of initial search

I have to pick 3 keywords out of this 8 , in your honest opinion , which 3 should i choose ! Appreciate your help guys !

Keyword 1 : 8100 searches , Cpc : $3.11

Keyword 2 : 2400 searches , Cpc : $1.20

Keyword 3 : 1600 searches , Cpc : $3.32

Keyword 4 : 1300 searches , Cpc : $5.22

Keyword 5 : 1000 searches , Cpc : $1.56

Keyword 6 : 1300 searches , Cpc : $4.17

Keyword 7 : 1600 searches , Cpc : $3.82

Keyword 8 : 1600 searches , Cpc : $1.66

I have to pick 3 keywords out of this 8 , in your honest opinion , which 3 should i choose ! Appreciate your help guys !

4,5,6 just because the SEO Competition is not as tough but if I were you, I'd pick only #4.

Why go with hard to rank keywords when I have 80k+ EMDs available?

Hi there ! Thanks for your comments ! Im quite interested in keyword 4 too ! But then its weird that it says " Extremely Difficult " , Isit because of the domain age and Page rank?

Anyone have any more opinions on which 3 i should choose?

I wouldn't pick any without seeing the competition from advertisers. That makes a huge difference.

Yeah I would say to be safe go with the one Traffic Travis said was the easiest. The thing about that software though, is the fact that it places a lot of weight on things that simply aren't that important.

Take youtube results for example. TT gives this huge weight, and treats it like it was a regular page. But I've found it extremely easy to outrank youtube vids and wikipedia pages and the like.

It looks to me that there are a lot of these types of results in those keywords, as I see many sites with millions and even billions of BLS.

I'm not going to recommend 3 because I would not trust just TT. I have keywords I rank on 1st page with very little effort and TT says they are hard. Then I have keywords that TT says are relatively easy and even I can look at them and see that's not the case.

I would atleast cross check your findings with 2 or 3 other tools like market samurai and serp attacks.

Yeah - what beakon said. Dont put your trust in TT.

I would do the following:

1. Check all keywords for available EMDs c*m,o*g,n*t

1.1 If you find available EMDs, go to GoogleKWT and see if the advertiser competition is good enough (high enough) to be worthwhile

1.2 If you end up with more than one KW - choose a general product based one. Id prefer "dishwasher spare parts" over "AEG dishwasher spare parts" over "AEG Superduper 1100 XL dish washer spare parts".



2. If all EMDs for all keywords are taken, check out the websites behind the EMDs and their backlink count and type + how well they are ranking.

2.1 IF you find EMDs with low (0-50) or crappy (WP comments or profiles only) backlinks ranking well, it is often quite easy to get a "almost EMD" domain to rank quite well if you mix your backlinks a little more.


3. Listen to your gut feeling




edit: one a side note - judging by just the TT screenshots you postet ... none of the keywords seem very good to me - considering the fact that you pay for this service. Heck - even "food hygiene course" has 2900 EXACT + foodhygienecourse.N*T available + the .O*G is ranking in top 20 with less than 20 backlinks! and it took me less than 5 minutes to find that one.

Its sad that at the moment i only can use free softwares to help me find out the competition of the keyword. Its a pain to actually choose the keywords they gave me. Just hoping for the best in the keywords i chose now.

Anyone have any idea which keyword 4 has a extremely difficult rating? the top 10 sites's backlinks are not too much. I really think i can try for it , some opinions please?

as the other guy said you got scammed - these are all pretty bad keywords, and whoever sold them can be ashamed
kw1 could be of some value IF theres a good competition on the adwords

You don't need any software, TT will get you your first glance and you can/should do the rest manually.

In google keyword tool it should have a competition bar. That is competition from advertisers, if the bar is empty then you are going to have unrelated ads, if it is full you should have many people competing to advertise for your keywords making the ads displayed more relevant.

I didnt know about this ! And i actually bought some of the domains already ! One keyword i bought is about " Quotes " and after i plugged in google keyword tool , i realize is has NO COMPETITION. means no advertisers is bidding for that keyword...RIGHTT? Im so so upset right now , i didnt even know about this , what am i gonna do?

Eh, tough call but I have built sites about quotes before and haven't had much success with them. I would ask if it can be changed, even if you registered the domain already cut your losses at the domain cost. JMO, not sure that everyone would agree.
