Anyone Know How to Reboot The Arris 3.0 Docsis Modems without unpluging it?

I just had a 50mbps connection installed with an Arris TM802G cable modem. Just wondering if anyone has figured out a way to reboot these things via telnet or something. I want to run another instance of clad on this line. I know they say you cant rotate ips with the arris modems but It does work by changing the mac address on the router and then unplugging it. I already confirmed that.

I'm just wondering if there is a way to reset it via telnet or something as there is no option to do so when you log in to the routers gui. I am aware that the motorolla surfboards will work for this, but if I can save myself $100 it would be cool. Otherwise I guess it's off to BestBuy tomorrow. Any help is appreciated.

interesting telnet is available with a little hacking. docsis . org/node/1145, telnet available, by adding arrisCmDoc30AccessTelnetPassword into cm config file, Though i have no clue where to begin editing cm config file. edit, not to keen on which router you are running, so not sure if it supports telnet. Best bet is to install dd-wrt and turn on telnet. r Though in my case, i still need to reboot the cable modem after changing the router mac address, inorder for the modem to select a new ip from the dhcp pool.

I just found the service tech manual online. It has all the info on how to get into the config files. says I can telnet or ssh. My routers supports telnet and ssh so looks like I'm good to go. Hopefully this works, there is a reboot command listed in the manual so fingers crossed...

I know it's been a while since, but where did you find the tech man? I always came up with the arris support site login.
