Do I Need A Reseller Permit?

Hello everyone,

i am trying to figure out if i need a reseller permit. i own a website that does drop shipping and one of our manufacturers asked for a resller # on the dealer app. this is the first one that has asked for that.

I am trying to figure out if i actually need this number since i dont inventory any goods because i am dropshipping. is a EIN number eneough?

A Reseller permit comes from the County and in the eyes of the manufacturer it allows you to but Wholesale. It also make you responsible for paying taxes where applicable on a quarterly basis usually.

Anytime I bought direct from the manufacturer they asked for it ... just another boondoggle for a tax authority to make a buck ... sometimes it just doesn't pay to argue about it ... all the best in your venture

EIN number is probably not enough, that just shows the IRS you are an employer

thank you for the help, i went ahead and got it today, called the BOE and they said i needed it, but hey its was free and only tood 30 min
