My question goes to Shea, Andrew and anyone else who has anything of value to throw in here.
It is an important question to address fully, because otherwise this mass submission of videos will be a waste of time.

My understanding is that if an article is submitted to 100 sites, google will recognize them as being duplicates, and will only display one in the search results. Similarly, it will only attribute backlink value of one link to the target site. As a result, it is pointless to submit 100 copies of the same article. I know that the solution to this in article marketing is to "spin" the text, so that each article looks unique, in order to bypass google's duplicate content filter.

My question is:
Does google have a duplicate content filter for videos?
If the answer is "yes", is this just text based, seeking duplicity in the title/description/tag fields?

Or does it go further than that, i.e. does it recognize duplicity within the actual video itself? e.g.

  • video footage length
  • file type
  • file size
  • file name
  • text within the video footage
  • watermark within the video footage
  • speech recognition within the video
This is an important question, as it is pointless mass submitting a video to 100 sites if google disregards 99 of them because a duplicate content flag was activated.

If there is a duplicate video content filter, what is the solution to this , so that google sees each video as unique, and to make mass submission a worthwhile exercise?

Thank you for posting these questions TheTranquilSunset. I did some research and while I am by no means an expert in Google's search algorithm, I do want to offer up what I believe and what I have found out about it.

Google only appears to put the majority of its weight by ranking text. I read an interesting article which shows what the majority of us believe, (ie. keywords in the title, keywords in the domain, keywords in meta tags, keywords across links incoming and outgoing, keywords in h4 and hx tags, and decent keyword saturation ARE all important to achieving a high ranking page.)

We also know the opposite is also true. Too many links too fast, over-saturation of a keyword, over use of the meta tag, etc etc can actually hurt your ranking.

From what I believe, at this present time, google can not or does not take into account other types of media, (images, videos, etc.) As an example, we can all go to iStockPhoto and put the same image on our website, and as long as we all enter different ALT="Image Description" information we will not be flagged for using the same image.

Now with all of that being said, I do believe Google could check video file duplication if it wanted to. We know Google bought Youtube, and we know Youtube can check for duplicate videos.

Under the Google Youtube Help page they say that they detect duplicate content by running a checksum on the file. They even say to beat this duplicate content detector, just add a frame to the end of the video. You can read this at:

http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=58139

Now my belief is that while it is important for Youtube not to have 100 duplicate videos, Google does not see duplicate video files as important to affecting the rank of the url the video file has in its description.

As long as your description and title are not over-saturdated, (ie. No more than 100 of the same type, (as recommend by a really good directory submitter I use,) then you will be okay.

I hope this all makes sense!

I signed up.

As many people have been asking how much this product is and witholding that information is admittedly a great marketing ploy.

However, if the price point isn't what the masses reasonably expects it to be - it could come back to haunt your launch.

Just my thoughts. Looking forward to this sofware.

Thank you for the advice. I can say that we will be very fair to BHW members who have signed up before the launch day.

It is the least we can do for a community that unknowingly drove us to this point. Night after night we would gain encouragement from reading other success stories and ideas.

Forums like DP can not be called anything but depressing. The real work is being done here.

The way this thing is launching it better be as functional and affordable as scrapebox.

I am curious about this product, but I got burned by MS... does this thing really work in a fully automated fashion or is it just a macro generator like MS seems to be?

I want a tool where I can follow my workflow for content creation, generate my videos, click a button and it generates accounts and submits the videos without me having to babysit it and intervene on every screen. Is this tool at that level of capability/sophistication or is there still some babysitting and manual steps required?

If you guys can really deliver on what you are saying this tool will be the holy grail of video marketing.

Dude, I need some details on this- I've got a domain set up and ready to go! I also sent an email to Shea with a question, hope it didn't go to junk mail.

Product definitely looks interesting. Curious to see how much the price will be for BHW members.

I signed up for the early launch too - I am hoping that the pricing would be reasonable!

This Looks like a remake of the product Video Post Robot from a few years back.

What about video sites that would not be in the list ? I'm often dealing with non-English sites that I guess not many people here would know. Could I add them too by means of an external config for example ?

This would be a feature that could be added in at a later date... Unfortunately because of the way video sites work they pretty much need to be coded individually by hand. We can keep you posted though!

All right everyone! We have received quite a few emails regarding the best way to create a video that will convert for you. Three things...

1. Make sure the video is supplying GOOD information.

2. Put a fairly good video together. It doesn't have to be 100% top quality but make sure that the video flows right and that the proper information is being passed on. Don't just throw some images together and hope it works. Most people won't watch these videos.

3. Have fun making them and put yourself into the videos... This helps people connect with you and believe in what you are selling because you yourself are backing what you are saying.

There is a ton of hints and tips and we will try and let you know. Now go forth and create, create, create because once Video Marketing Robot comes out, you will be ready.

ho hummm...

Let me know when it launches.. SEo software shouldn't be like a carnival coming to town.

Hi everyone,
Just want to give you a quick update... This carnival is spinning around and around... ;)

Seriously though, EVE is now being beta tested, (the video editor we have implemented into VMR.)

Also, uploads and account creations are going through some of their final beta tests. Things are looking good...

Finally the testimonial video creator is also going through its final beta test.

One of our beta testers had this to say:

"So far so good on the tests, only issue is account creation, like I said
having a manual option would be nice if you are only wanting to create a
few accounts. But otherwise no issues so far. I am excited to be a part of
the team and help out"

Thanks for the patience everyone.

Hi Andrew I just email replied to your screenshot email about the video portion of your system if you could check for it please?

Thanks !

Tex

Technically you can sign up for a Tubemogul account and get the major uploads for free to the major sites. However seeing the advanced features will warrant a purchase perhaps. I must say though, there really is only a handful of sites that are worth even submitting too. Many video sites go down as fast as they come up!
