Hai all,

I recently started using digg to rank high in SE's and I had some success getting a few of my submissions to #1 within a few hours. My first account was removed without warning and when I e-mailed them, they said I was creating artificial diggs, when I wasn't, I had only opened a new account that day for a new site and I didn't digg any of my submissions.

Then I created a new account and everything was fine for a few weeks then tonight again...banned without warning. I tried to re-reg but it seems they have tried to banhammer my IP with their faggotry message ''DOH BLARRBB''. Then I just tried with a proxy and it let me re-sign up but when I removed the proxy, and tried to verify the e-mail I got the ''DOH'' bs again.

Does this mean I have to use a proxy from now on? |: I have a dynamic IP but it doesn't seem to have much affect. Any help/advice appreciated.

Yea it appears they may have banned user Ip class--- have you tried using squidoo or propeller-- I have success using them as well..

You won't be able to make a lot of dig accounts using the same IP, sure way to get banned. Either find a way to change your IP or find some good proxies. If you log in to more than one account under the same IP, they've got you, definite IP ban.

You can also get a cheap dial up account. Every time you hang up and reconnect, you get a new IP address.

digg drops a cookie when you use them once and if you use them again with a different account on same IP as before, you must make sure to FLUSH your BROWSER's cache and reboot your DSL modem to get another IP :) and you're good to go...

[edit] ah! i forgot to tell ya, if you're using private IP scheme, then you're doomed coz, you're gateway IP remains the same.

get on public IP

Cheers

Were you digging other people's sh*t or the same stuff over and over again?

You need to digg like 20 other stories for every one of yours to stay under the radar. You can still register with proxies. Your stuff has to be Digg's kind of thing for them not to hate on you, as in, really good unique stuff that has a news appeal. Digg is very much wide appeal news oriented now and less about just bookmarking stuff.

yeah digg is much like having phishing software installed on my networked computers, b'cus all my mates got banned digg accounts just for viewing pages with digg buttons "on their pcs from our LAN IP!".

haha. Digg is really funny about the way they operate. Never really understood if its automated or manually moderated.

the owners are sure blakhatters so they know our stuff and the newbies? well they can all suck home to momma. easy pickings for the Digg's programmers

It's both. There are automated security measures in place and moderation is handled manually as well. There's no "automatic" ticket to the front page. A mod has to approve it to the front page.
