First sale on flippa

Hi

Ive recently sold a site on flippa , the sale date was 3 weeks ago , ive been paid with paypal , straight away , so i forwarded the buyer the site in a zip file etc .I unlocked the domain , with godaddy , i taken of the privacy , so the buyer can transfer it to his registrar. I received an email from godaddy saying forward this on to the buyer , so he can complete the transfer.

Everyting on my side has been completed , but , the site is still running on my host , im still earning adsense on it . Ive tried to get in contact with the buyer , asking what is the hold up , why isnt the site running on his host , but hes not replying to me.I know hes recently bought another site of flipper , so he is still trading .

Should i be worried , that after 3 weeks , the transaction is not fully complete , or do i just ignore sending him any more emails ( around 4-5 now and still no reply from him ) and just carry on earning adsense from it ?

I know if i had just bought a site for $1000 id want to be in full control of it straight away . Hes got a plus 4 rating on flippa , and verified at paypal

Am i just being to paranoid ?

You're still making money off the site that you've sold and you've done everything in your power (sent him 5 emails) to inform the buyer of this so I certainly wouldn't complain if I were you

By the way - many buyers are like that and while a grand might seem like big money to some, it's peanuts to others and hence moving the site over to his server might not be anywhere near the top of the buyer's list of priorities.

So chill out and enjoy the Adsense income

Was hoping someone would say that , you just hear of people leaving it untill the last day where they do a charge back on paypal , paypal gives them there money back , then they have a site for $0 .

Ill just let it be for the time being and like you said keep enjoying the adsense earnings

YOu have to understand that most of the buyer on flippa are so freaking lazy they don't want to any work. They just want money to come directly to their bank account if it requires any type of work...they are NOT interested. I know this is a gross generalization. But having sold over 10 sites on there I know this to be a FACT

That's not a fact... that's your opinion based on selling 10 sites. That's hardly a large sample size.

I'd imagine you only deal with sites in the $XXX-XXXX range as well? Buyers at that level tend to have more unrealistic expectations than those who buy higher end sites. If you don't sell crappy sites, you won't keep picking up crappy clients.

The trick to building a successful business is having repeat clients who are happy to pay for what you offer and see value in it. If you keep selling sites to people who expect to do nothing and make millions, then it's likely they are never going to buy again and are just going to cause you headaches.

I totally agree with you regarding repeat clients and that has been my main focus. If you have suggestions on how to get into brokering bigger sites i'm all ears....

Stick to the smaller sites until you have more experience. I probably had around 200 transactions under my belt (various marketplaces/usernames) until I moved up to the $10k+ range.

Probably not worth brokering at that range, so just get used to selling a variety of sites even if you're only making a few bucks profit each time.

I also wouldn't move into brokering until you've sold a few of your own sites over the $10k+ level. It's going to be hard to get any clients if you've never actually sold anything that big

So on a timescale, something like:

Sell turnkeys/small sites -> flip bigger sites of your own -> broker and flip

There's a lot of competition out there as a broker and not all that many quality sites around - so definitely think hard before you jump into it.

If you're good at making your own sites, that's probably more profitable (at least for now).

Are lower priced sites $150-$500 easier to sell than higher priced sites?
Has anyone used a nulled script theme or template to create a site for flipping or is it safer to buy the script?
