Keyword research vs unique content

I hope I'm not getting ready to confuse anyone but I just have some quick questions. I've followed the crashed challenge awhile back when it was being updated and now I've kind of lifted off on my own. I keep reading these threads about keyword research and some are talking about unique content.

Based off my niche, I have a great amount of information that should attract many visitors and I've been kind of targeting some good keywords lately but still not getting the visitors I've been hoping for. My blog has only been up since July 21st and I started around 80 UVs a week and now I'm down to about 30 a week.

Some of my article titles are good keywords that have been searched by 10k+ people per month with low competitiveness and exact matches. I've gotten some hits from ezinearticles (23 or so article views) and about 4-5 from 2 articles on GoArticles. Some of my articles are even on page 1 of google and very few are #1 result.

I've made $2 from adsense and $0.75 from CPA Lead but it's extremely slow. Haven't really done any do follow backlinking yet. Is scrapebox really necessary or I mean do some of you just go on blogs and just answer stuff with your link to your sites in the comments box?

Also, I've been to the tutorial on keyword research, but should I always do keyword research using Google Adwords keyword tool and always use exact?

Scrapebox isn't necessary at all but it helps. You can get higher quality links manually and you're a lot more likely to get approved. Look into other ways to build links aswell.

Backlinks will surely bring you more visitors, you should concentrate on them from now on.

And definitely always use exact when doing kw research with the google keyword tool.

Thanks for that. Quick question though, when using exact, does it mean the user is searching for that keyword WITH the quotes? Or does that mean the user is only searching for exactly what I typed in?

Also, I know there's some tools out there but is there any that you know of that'll gather a bunch of blog sites with high PR do follow sites? I'm a bit curious too as to should I only go for auto approved blogs or chance blogs that requires approval? Personally, any comments that come in with their signature in it saying something like "check out my site xx.xx.xx" I edit and remove it so that it doesn't contain any linkback information. Wondering if others would do this to my comments.

It means they're searching for exactly what you typed without the quotes

Try to look for high PR blogs related to your niche and post a non-spammy comment. That way your comment will very likely get approved and you may also get some visitors that way if you posted something useful. I would say combine the two. If you have good unique content and combine that with a tool like scrapebox, you'll get the back links and clickthroughs and then capture the users with your "supposedly" riveting unique content.

I would also highly recommend doing some kind of product, either through affiliate sites or just write something yourself. product == passive income == freedom

I would do both, but if I had to choose between them I'd choose keyword research every time. I can always take a minute or two to tweak a "borrowed" article and get some traffic that way. But if I target the wrong keywords using unique content I won't get shit for traffic.

Thanks. That makes sense actually. Probably why although my content is very great for anyone, it's not getting much traffic. I'll work more on my keyword research later. Feeling lazy now that I have 5-6 posts scheduled for the next few days, lol.
