I started a campaign a few months ago on Facebook and a few folks know I had tremendous success with it. It involved using Facebook Ads and making a fan page on it. I used FB Ads and had advertised a fan page created. I was able to get about $0.10 CPM and had a awesome turnaround.

The fan page grew tremendously for a month or so. On the fan page, I offered websites with certain affiliate products. Sometimes I even sold links on the site to provide blogs for a 'shout out'.

You can see I hit hard on certain days of the week (Friday mostly) which produced a big spike in the traffic. Once traffic spiked, I began my promotion.

Here is the performance from my affiliate network. I ended up making some VERY good cash in under a few months. All of it was pretty automized. I tested a initially to find out what day of the week was best and rather than go every day (which would set off spam alarms) I went 1-2 days a week and settled.

The traffic started to go and I couldn't get the snowball effect anymore so I let it go for a while. I just tested it out the last few weeks and starting to see a big uptrend. So I might start this up again... just in case anyone is interested is all :)

Nice work! What do you think is the key to success on FB in terms of niche, & attracting likes? Do you ever dabble in auto like scripts?

I don't know much about CPA. Is this blackhat? I mean is it possible to get banned with this method?

I think the key is to have something original that people have not seen. Random fan page liking has seen its time and gone. Killer apps, etc. No I don't do anything with auto-likes because when the user finds out they like your page - they'll hide the feed or unlike or report spam which deletes your page.

Yes it is blackhat. Yes it is but there is a buffer on both ends where no one will every know.

Great job man ;). This totally motivated me to learn more about FB ads.And if it's not a problem can you give us a hint what is your page about? :)

Thanks. It is about having fun. Take that concept and run with it. I am thinking about creating farms of similar fan pages and then harvesting the good quality ones.

Here is an update:

I am constantly update the page with status updates and pictures. On average I get 30-40 "Likes" per post within 45 minutes and 10-15 comments.

If it is relevant to the page I can get as up to 70 "Likes" and 20-25 comments on the post during non-peak times.

I am posting, on average, 10-12 times a day.

Going in to Facebook Ads and setting up new targets. I am going to target very large fan pages with a specific age group (like 21). I have 10 creatives and will drop the best down to 2-3. My budget for this is $50 Facebook ad vouchers I have and anticipate using the entire voucher within a 2 week period. I am initially targetting $0.70 CPM but then will lower to $0.15 once the right traffic rolls in.

The activity is obviously increasing since its my 2nd highest activity period for this and I expect it will peak/crest in 3-4 weeks.

My goal is to get the response up per Like. So more media consumption and all that and more activity.

I tested a page out that I had and was able to get 100 uniques to it within a few minutes, so the quality of traffic is looking good. I can see that it is all over the USA so it'll be nice traffic for my affiliate program.

Thats pretty low for a big page like yours... but its no wonder when:

Thats way too much dude...most ppl have probably blocked your fanpage already...

I have page with about 100k people and I can get about 100 likes, so I totally agree with Spawnie

The page isn't that big and is seasonal. I can see the number that have unsubscribed and its ridiculously low. Also, the success of the page is dependent on the number of posts. It won't grow unless there is something popping up in the news feed. Otherwise it'll just stay dead and stale at the same number. The idea is to grow the fan page, let it cool, then hit it.

If you have 100K fan page and can get 100 likes, that's 10 likes per 10K (my page beats yours by 4x outperformance). Also, as I mentioned, I am averaging 30-40 "Likes" per post. I have tested it where if I post once a day or every other day or a few times a day, I get less impressions and responses and the page grows. If I don't, people unlike the page after a few days. I tested out a URL by posting it and was able to get over 100 to the website within a few minutes. So all and all, I am pretty pleased with where the page is going.

So it is looking pretty good to me, especially since this page was virtually dead a month ago :)
